SundaySe7en: The Official Launch of an Unofficial Workout

All All MECA Backblasts

January 18th, 2017 By Fishwrap

I’m addicted to the #Caffeine 5 miler on Sunday. I’m committed to #QSource on Sunday.

Metro needs a 12 mile option on Sunday. It needs it in Cotswold. It’s getting it.

We will meet @ 0600 Sundays @ Cotswold Starbucks for 7B4Se7en.

What the crap is 7B4Se7en?

Well, YHC F3’d it to make it look cool, but it translates to 7before7 and means 7 miles before 7a.

It’s a play on 8@8 but I’ve chosen to use the number 7 and it’s not “at” anything but “before” something else.

At what pace?

Your pace. You can bring your best lackadaisical effort and still finish before #Caffeine starts @ 0715.

If you run a 10 minute mile you can participate in SundaySe7en. Do the math, mathmagician. I know what I’m talking about. 7 miles or 12 miles, you decide. Both are beta tested and clinically proven to be more effective than running Ritchie #12Miler, where, as I understand it, you’ll MAF 9 miles, then walk the last three.

How are you calculating the 12 miles?

I’m adding 7 to Caffeine for a total of 12.

But, what if I only want to do 5 miles?

Seriously.

Have you seen my baseball?

Yes. Someday has it. Go bother him.

What if I only want to do 7 miles?

This may actually work out for you then.

There’s a sizable gap between the 2 runs. What do I do in between?

Get this. It’s brilliant. You can do whatever you want – pee, poop, eat a snack, complete 7 minute ab program, drink some water, call your baby mama (tell her I said, “Whasup.”), stretch or continue running until 715 when you can transition to #Caffeine.

I’m not sweatin’ the time on those 7 miles so depending on who’s what where and when, we’ll call the how in the field. Feelin’ froggy? Boom. We’ll go fast, add a couple and/or AYG repeats in the shopping center parking lot. Feel like butt and need to chill? We can do that, too.

I’m chock-full of good ideas.

More importantly, I want to grow support and attendance at QSource and don’t want PAX trying to figure out how to fit their morning run(s) in with the rest of their day or having to make a decision between this, that other dumb thing or whatever.

For those preparing to run their first ½ marathon this season, your training started 3 weeks ago — you can’t afford to miss another mid-size run.

I’m a big fan of segmenting runs and have realized considerable benefit by breaking up bigger runs into smaller parts and am having a lot more fun with the process.

Bottom line, I want to set us up for success.

As we move forward (and if there’s an appetite for it) we can add miles and before too long your Sunday will cover all 3 F’s (really well) and look exactly like this:

6ixBforS6x (what, I’m fancy) + 7B4Se7en with some Caffeine + QSource = F3Beast

Sundays @ 0600. Meet at Cotswold Starbucks.

For the time being, we’ll run the following route. It’s relatively flat, with a couple baby climbs,

Randolph to Sardis, take a left on Sardis and then stay right to stay on Sardis. RT on Wingrave. RT on Folger. RT on Providence. RT on Sharon Amity. Bring it home.

Ding-ding.

Hope to see you out-

  1. Did you do this just for me? See you on Sunday at 6am. It’ll probably just be me and you, but that’s cool. Well, Stinger will show up because he needs to get yet another workout in for the week. #8daysaweek For the record, I’m only doing the 6am option + QSource = F3 sortof-beast. I’ll use the 7am-8:15am timeslot to prep the household for Jesus time and the 3 S’s. Actually, I don’t shave on Sundays. Mondays only, if you were wondering.

    1. Horn shaves?

    2. Yep, outta town Sunday but will definitely join in future. I need this. Less junk miles, more sustained distance. Love the fire, FW.

  2. Nice job Fish, this is a great option for the non-Ritchie runner. If I ever manage to make it out again I’ll give this one a whirl… but I know for a fact that the end of Randolph is slightly less than ‘relatively flat’.

  3. Great idea, Fishwrap

  4. Is this workout unauthorized? I hope this workout is unauthorized. See you at 6 on Sunday for 7.

  5. To streamline Wrap’s pre-blast into English, this is the JV or “lil’ baby sister” version of Ritchie Run. I am fully supportive of this run, especially for those that (1) need a break between mile 7 and mile 8 or (2) think Cotswald is scenic.

    Peace be with you,
    Subway
