You Can’t Do It Alone
All All MECA BackblastsJune 7th, 2016
We can all probably agree that if it weren’t for the other men out there each morning, we would not be working out nearly as often, if at all. There are lots of exercises you can do on your own, but do you really push yourself with no one to encourage you and hold you accountable? Today’s workout included exercises that required a partner or a group of pax to make it happen.
Warmup
Mosey around the parking lot and circle up in front of the sprint track.
- SSH x20
- Imperial Walker x10
- Windmill x10
- Imperial Squat Walker x 10
- Merkin x10
- Carolina Dry Dock x10
The Thang
Mosey out to the sports fields and find a suitable hill behind the baseball field.
- Squerkin Hillbarrow– Partner 1 does 10 Merkins while Partner 2 holds Partner 1’s ankles in wheelbarrow position, then Partner 2 does 10 Squats (still holding ankles), Partner 1 wheelbarrows up the hill does 10 more merkins and Partner 2 does 10 squats. Run down the hill, switch partners and repeato. Repeat the whole thing over, but this time wheel barrow downhill. (Adapted from Clueless’ June 2nd backblast. I couldn’t quite remember how it went.)
- Bear Crawl up and down the hill.
- Lunge Walk up the hill.
Mosey around the corner to the batting cage.
- Burpee Leap Frog– like Cackalacka Choochoo, but with a burpee in between each pax.
- Tunnel of Love
Mosey to the football field.
- Partner Push– Lineman’s drill where two pax lock shields and one pax drives the other pax backwards across the field. Repeato.
- 20 Partner Handclap Merkins
Mary
Mosey to back to the sprint track in the parking lot.
- 20 LBCs, sprint to the next line.
- 20 Squirms, sprint to the next line.
- 20 Mason Twists, sprint to the next line.
- 20 Oblique Crunches, sprint to the next line.
- 20 LBCs, sprint to the next line.
- Sprint back the start.
Mosey to the cars.
- Homer-to-Marge Merry Medley, including: Homer, Marge, Low Dolly, Rosalita, and Low Flutter. Feet never touch the ground.
Moleskin
- I like that hill we found. It is a longer climb, but about the same elevation gain as the one at The Ridge in Harrisburg. Next time we will have to do it Clueless’ way, though; it looks tougher.
- Still need Qs for Thurday and Saturday (I will be out of town Saturday). Signup here!
Peace,
Deuce
