Scottish Spits
All All MECA BackblastsMay 19th, 2016
Q heard the rain coming down at 2am, “crap, got to come up with a plan B for the WOD, for those who’ll brave the rain…”
Pleasant surprise when pulling up to the Q to see 8 brave souls huddled up under the owning of ASEC, brieg chatter ensued followed by a quick decision to stick with the original plan of a long run with a few pain stations sprinkled in, reaffirmed by Indy’s “It seems pretty clear now, there may be a few Scottish spits here and there” (or something to that effect)
The thang;
– Circle at the courtyard up front for a quick stretch: SSH x 20, alternate leg stretches, slow downward dog merks
– Take off, Q had an 8.30 pace in mind for a 4.2 miler
– The run
– Down Lake Concord, left on Burrage, Right on Palaside, Left on Scenic, down Miramar to Beverly Hills Park (fairly easy run, ~2 miles at this point)
– Quick stop at the tennis court for alternate leg lunges and merks
– Keep on trucking
– Down Miramar to Concord High
– Hello long steep hill, this is where rain really picked up, it’s no Scottish spits at this point, full on cats and dogs, everyone is soaked
– Quick pain station at the Concord HS
– Merks and mtn climbers
– Left on Burrage, hello another steep long hill and more rain (insert thoughts of hot shower here)
– Right on Lake Concord
– Back to the AO
Very Quick Mary of KGBs x 20
Moleskin:
1. Many thanks to those who showed up to brave the rain and ignored Q’s PB that there will be a lot of running
2. Props to Trick for keeping direction-challenged Q in check
3. Q is starting to shamelessly use Q-ing opportunity to ramp up training for BRR, buyer beware
4. Sign up to Q, lots of open spots, don’t make me assign Qs
