Harrisburg 5K Prep
All BackBlasts BackblastsMarch 30th, 2022
PAX: Birdcage, Othello (R), Starsky, Gamma (R), Zin, Wexler, TBone, Exit54, Deadhead
The Harrisburg 5K is one month away, and it’s high time we got our collective asses in gear to prepare for it. So, that being said, here’s how it went.
THE THANG
0530 Launch from the Town Center.
Cross 49 and turn right on School
Left on Hickory Ridge
Right on Railroad and up the hill
Left on Oakley
Left on Sims Parkway into the park and turn around after the library.
ON THE RETURN TRIP:
Turn right on Henderson Circle then right on Oakley
Once back on Robinson Church turn right and do the “Boomer Village” (trademark pending) loop and go back to the bottom of the hill
One last time up the hill and this time, we’ll cross 49 and go down on Patricia.
Right on Parallel back home.
Sounds more complicated than it actually is. We’re going to basically run all the way to the library and do the extras on the way back, ultimately taking Patricia and Parallel back to Percent.
Once back at Percent, 1/2 mile loop.
MOLESKIN
- Nice work out there, everyone!
- Everyone was pushing themselves and it looks like “Post Office to Pharr Mill Brewery” is a new segment on Strava. Lots of PRs on that one today.
- Starsky is still holding strong on his promise to post everyday.
- Exit, TBone, Othello, and Wexler were waaaaaaaay out there and moving this morning.
- Thanks to Birdcage for hanging with the cool kid (YHC) for a bit to make me feel like I still had a fighting chance.
- Fast Gamma and Zin both put in solid efforts out there.
- Good to see DT and Hudson out getting some miles in as well.
- Coffeeteria featured hearty laughs and life lessons with contributions by all.
- YHC was really struggling post-run. Thank you to everyone for their energy today. Posting is tough on a normal day. On a day when you feel like your efforts are worthless? Very tough. But you keep coming back. You keep posting. You keep getting better.
- One more day of Deadhead Q’n tomorrow at The Ridge. Fun times are in store.
