Bells, Blocks and Bolts!

All The Dawg House Backblasts

August 31st, 2020 By Shooter

YHC was getting ready to head on out to the beatdown when he noticed quite a lot of flashing in the sky. A quick look at the Accu-Weather app showed a pretty nasty looking storm headed our way, with  reds and purples on the map.  The kettlebell workout was all set, but the ride to the Dawg House had the Q changing it up on the fly in his mind.  Pulling into the Dawg House, a couple of pax awaited.  We moved our cars closer to the school entrance with the storm expected to hit half way through the beatdown to spare us from running to our cars in the storm with metal balls in hand..

The disclaimer was given to the veteran group of pax and off we went for a mosey around the lot.  We circled up in the courtyard for the Warm-o-Rama:

A short walk to grab our kettlebells and/or concrete blocks and took position under cover for the coming storm.  YHC had planned to split up the pax in groups of three for a shuttling back and forth routine in the parking lot, but the light show changed things up.  Instead we had three different sets of routines, consisting of six bell movements all in 10 count or modify as necessary. Each set lasted ten minutes. After completing the six, we lapped around the courtyard, until the heavy rains came and then switched that out for some planks. We completed about 2.5 to 3 movements of each set.

We were about half way through the third set when Zeus fired a lighting bolt from the clouds in our immediate vicinity.  Out of an abundance of caution, the beatdown was called with about five minutes  left on the clock.

Always enjoy doing KB workouts, as it gets the creativity juices working.  As always, it was an honor to lead!
