A Roll of the Dice
All BackBlasts BackblastsNovember 20th, 2019
At 0530 on a chilly Wednesday morning, 6 men gathered in the early gloom to get a little better. As seen in the Preblast, YHC had plans to visit a couple of different coupon piles this morning. However, this being NC the weather is always a roll of the dice, and the overnight rain made access to the block pile questionable. So the backup plan was put into affect. (You guys do always have a backup plan, right?) We were still able to access the plate pile next to the railroad tracks. But first,
WARMAROMA:
Mosey up the deck ramps in di tossing Indian Run style. Lead guy throws a large foam di over his shoulder to the man behind him and repeato until the di reaches the last man in the line who then sprints to the front of the line and tosses the di over his shoulder. If you drop the di, go pick it up, do 5 merkins and sprint to the front of the line. Continue to top of the dry section of the deck for
20 SSH IC, 10 Windmills, 10 IST, 20 Mountain Climbers IC, Arm Circles
Mosey down 2 flights, back up one flight of stairs until we reach the bottom and mosey to the plate pile near the train tracks. On the way we picked up a 7th, our boy Loafer arrived a bit late and was wondering aimlessly around the streets of Kannapolis until he saw us and joined the Pax on our way to the plates. Arrive at the plate pile and pick your poison (1 or 2 plates) the gather under a nearby street lamp. The following exercises were performed in order with the number of reps determined by the dice x2 (roll a 3, do six reps): Curls, skull crushers, bent over rows, overhead press, squats. If snake eyes came up it was 10 burpees, but we never had to worry about that.
After three rounds of that, we returned the plates and moseyed to the bottom floor of the deck for some core work. A timer ran up two ramps and came back down the stairs while the pax did AYG of:
LBCs, Low Flutters, Freddie Mercs, Pretzel Crunch left, Pretzel Crunch right, Superman to Iron Man, Elbow plank (Did SunDollar run all the way to the top of the deck at this point? Sure felt like it.)
To fill the last bit of time we repeated the di toss deck climb, with Loafer in tow this time, to see if the workout had affected our pitching/catching skills. It was unanimous that we prefer pitching to catching, not sure why that was funny, but everyone laughed while we discussed it.) We got to the top with only a couple of drops. It remains to be determined if it was bad tosses or bad catching. Deliberations will be held at the French Express on Saturday morning after the workout. This will provide time to pull the footage from the surveillance cameras on site and for the parties involved to mount their defenses. Credit should be given to SirTopEm for saving Gunny from a set of Merkins at the end of the run thanks to his O-So-Smooth hands.
Mosey back down the stairs to the AO for MARY:
Extended stretching with hamstring stretch, down dog, cobra, child’s pose, right/left shoulder stretches, back to down dog and recover, recover.
COT: Continued prayers for Loafers family. Encouragement to the PAX to lean on each other and not try go it alone in this world. “A cord of three strands is not easily broken” – The Bible (It’s in there somewhere.)
It’s always an honor and I count it a privilege to lead you gentlemen.
In HIS Service,
Grandmaster
