As YHC awoke this morning to the sound of raindrops on my window, a single thought brought itself to the forefront of my brain: fartsack.

However, as it was my responsibility to lead our rag-tag group into The Gloom, up I got. A quick text exchange with @focker ensued, and we met at the bottom of YHC’s driveway to begin our trek to the AO.

As we ran, we saw what was either the truck of @pavarotti or @dropcloth pass us en route (we assumed) to the AO. When we arrived, the truck was there but @pavarotti was asleep inside.

We thought it might just be a trio, when none-other than our globetrotting Pax, @brinkley, emerged from the rabbit hole with the shovel flag. Despite his recent travels, the flag atop the shovel was still the Stars & Stripes and not the flag of the EU. He was running on the wrong side of the road, however.

As 5:30 struck, headlights pulled into reveal @gordo, making our quartet a five-some. The route was audibled, and away we went.

• Out the main HCES entrance, left onto Highland Creek Pkwy
• Pkwy down to last Beauvista entrance, left onto Beauvista
• Across Pkwy to Fairvista
• Left back onto HC Pkwy
• Right onto Shelley Ave, left into bus lot

• Great running this morning Gentlemen. Quality 2nd F time as we traversed both Beauvista and Fairvista five-wide, like we were racing Talladega. No “Big One,” thankfully
• Sorry to anyone who came out looking forward to nine-holes on the golf course. Just didn’t seem prudent with the weather
• Prayers for @brinkley’s mother Pat and his whole family as she struggles with some health issues
• Plenty of spots available on the Highlands Field Day team. We’ve got less than three weeks until the event (Nov. 2 @ Kannon) so let’s get those spots filled. We are the original AO in the region and one of the largest, we should be able to make a good showing.
