16 showed up for some beautiful weather and the hopes that the Q could come up with another successful beatdown worthy of a few “remember that time” stories…well…..there was no dick grabbing…..so there’s that.

Warmup:

Mosey to Clinic parking lot:

SSHs

Slow Merks

ISTs

Cotton Pickers

Mosey to Belk where two pickup trucks waited in the gloom for the start of a beatdown failure.

The thang:

Split into 2 teams, one per truck.  Private Ryan’s GMC vs Homeland’s Tacoma.

Plan was a parking lot drag race with F3 power only…loser team would do more reps than the winner:  Merks, Burpees, Dips, and Pull-ups.  Sounds simple enough right?

Moleskin:

Sorry Catfish, Cupid, Fire Chicken, I now hold the title for stupidest beatdown idea that’s too hard to implement and ends up nothing but a funny BB story. The only thing that made this worth a post was BD being there he made even this pitiful work out worth being present! Thanks BD! For just being there and making us all better!

Round 1:  PAX set to go behind each truck,  adrenaline pumping, competitive juices flowing, green light!  Tacoma off the line first with a quick start, PAX motoring along.  GMC stuck at the line with a bunch of confused PAX pushing really hard…parking break on.  Fail.  Merks all around, run to Starbucks and back, stop for Core work…

Round 2:  PAX set to go behind each truck, team GMC ready for redemption and talking trash to the driver, green light!  Both trucks off to a good start, neck and neck through the halfway point, then a horrifying grinding noise erupts from the GMC as it somehow got slammed into reverse, and grinds to a halt short of the finish line.  Some faint curse words were heard from team GMC, giggling from team Tacoma and a red-faced Private Ryan had explaining to do.  Fail.  Burpees, run to Starbucks, stop for core.

Round 3:  PAX set to go behind each truck, team GMC really annoyed at their first two premature blown loads were especially ready for the challenge.  Green light!   Good start, good race, lighter/leaner Tacoma in front, until Private Ryan, with a bit of ingenuity introduced a little V8 horsepower, almost running over BCR, but making it a tight finish…given BCR is still alive, not a total fail, but close.

Round 4:  Q should have just called it a foot race at this point, but the gimmick finally worked this time, tight race off the line, Tacoma pulled ahead, but GMC roared to life with a HUGH push from its Pax, somehow blowing by a tired, sorry looking team Tacoma.  Way to finish strong Tacoma guys.  I know as I had a front row seat to that lousy effort. 🙂

Mosey back to ASEC for some chin-ups and Mary.

Total Fail, but given no one got run over, I’ll call it a success.  We’ll tighten things up for next time after Private Ryan gets his transmission rebuilt.

Always enjoy leading this great group of men.  And a BIG thanks to Private Ryan for the assist today!

Here’s a good quote i got in my inbox today.  “The life that you are living now is also a dream of millions. So always be satisfied with your life. Be happy in every moment of it.”
