Where’s Slappy?

All Highlands Backblasts

September 24th, 2018 By Disaster

Three men….no make that two men… no make that three men showed up at Highland Creek Sports Club this morning to celebrate the memory of Lt. Michael Patrick Murphy through our monthly running of The Murph. Here’s how it all went down:

TOT (Triangle of Trust) BOM and Prayer

MOLESKIN

  1. We had a little confusion this morning when three men went up the hill for the first mile but only two men came back. After three rounds of exercises @Poutine and I started to get a little worried about @Slappy so we sent out a search party. Several of our friends from #Skywalker dropped by to help us look. @Poutine, @Grinder, and @Gordo went out on foot while I drove. Turns out that @Slappy is training for a half marathon later this year and decided to skip the exercises for some extra running. Mystery solved. Everyone back to where they came from.
  2. @Greek was a little confused about why I was driving around Highland Creek this morning instead of running. Clearly he isn’t familiar with the seldom used F3 bylaws giving PAX ages fifty and older the option of using a car to complete the second leg of the Murph. Respect indeed!
  3. Don’t think for a second that @Gump wouldn’t take advantage of this bylaw if given the opportunity.
  4. The weather was absolutely perfect this morning. Low 60’s with a light mist. Ideal for running. As well as driving.
  5. Don’t forget that the Highlands hosts #mettle (kettle bell workout) at the Sports Club every Monday at 530AM except for Murph Monday. Come out and join them next week and make yourself a little bit stronger. Don’t make me drive around to find you either!
  6. Thanks to @Poutine for giving me some form advice on the merkins this morning. My triceps will never be the same.
  7. YHC has the Q at Highland Creek Elementary School tomorrow to celebrate my three year anniversary with F3. Plenty of Second F as well as First F so join us if you can. It’s a lot cheaper than Gladiator Boot Camp too.
