“The Rhythm of Labor” Bootcamp at The Precinct

All The Precinct Backblasts

September 4th, 2018 By Man Down

In late 1800s, the average blue collar worker put in 100 hours per week! During that time a movement tipped the scales to create more humane Labor Laws. Part of that was a “Labor Day” celebration to give workers a mandatory day off. A related part of this movement was the creation of the 8-Hour Work Day. The idea was that the rhythm of a working man’s life should involve 8 hours of Labor, 8 hours of Play, and 8 hours of Rest – each area taking up a third of the average day. In honor of this, YHC thought it would be “fun” to break up this morning’s Precinct bootcamp in the same rhythm. Disclaimer provided (unfortunately before our FNG, Richard, showed up) and we were off for a short mosey to the Cell Block
