Leading is Learning

All Davis Lake Backblasts

8 PAX enjoyed the cooler weather, no running painorama YHC brought in the gloom.

Sometimes we don’t step up to lead because of fear.  “What if I make a mistake” or “What if I fail” .  Maybe we believe the lie that we’re not worthy of being followed by our peers.  We don’t think we have the skill or the knowledge.  Sometimes, in order to grow, we have to step out and take some risk.

This morning, YHC almost fartsacked my Q.  I woke, for the second time, at 5:25 in a panic.  I hate posting late; I feel embarrassed every time.  Even more if I’m the Q.  But sometimes, when we take the risk of stepping up to lead; we learn.

This morning I learned that when your in relationship with others, they have your back.  Thanks @2Step for starting warmarama and taking the lead in my absence.

This morning I learned that encouraging words can bring both humility and healing.  Thanks, Schoolbus, for reminding me that it’s always better to show up instead of give up.

This morning I learned that even if you make a mistake, the right group of true friends will still follow your lead and allow you to pick right back up where you were intended to be.  Thanks to all the PAX for being out there this morning and for allowing me to lead you despite my arrival time.

The crazy thing is, YHC had already planned a partner workout for this morning.  I was feeling the need to work together.  And little did I know that I would need these partners to remind me of some very important things this morning.

One partner did AMRAP upper body exercises while the other partner did sets of 50 and 100 of various exercises.  Then, the partners traded places.  We had a great workout.  We got stronger.  And thanks to my brothers in the gloom, I gained more mental strength than physical this morning.
