Who turned out the lights?
All Highlands BackblastsJuly 30th, 2018
Eight men showed up at Highland Creek Sports Club this morning to celebrate the memory of Lt. Michael Patrick Murphy through our monthly running of the Murph. @Shazam and @Power Ball got an early start and the rest of us were playing catch up in some really thick humidity. Here’s how it all went down.
- Run One Mile
- 10 Pull Ups
- 20 Merkins
- 30 Air Squats
- Repeato exercises X 10
- Run One Mile
COT and BOM
MOLESKIN
- Some of the local hooligans kicked out most of the light posts at the park leaving us in almost total darkness. It felt like winter all over again. I did my fifth set of squats naked just to see if anyone would notice and completely pulled it off.
- Some new guy named @Thorn joined us today. We tried to name him but he swore that he used to post at the Highlands. Sound off below if anyone has ever heard of this guy.
- @Next Door posted for his first Murph this morning. At some point he heard that the run went to the roundabout and back instead of the cul-de-sac. Fortunately he saw us before he navigated the nightmare that is Millstream Ridge Road.
- @Kleanup and I spent the beginning of the first mile thinking of ways to razz @Power Ball for ‘HC’ing on Slack and then not showing up. Then it turns out he showed up early so we had to scrap it all. Stupid darkness.
- @Slappy has been getting some extra running in during the week and it showed. He finished strong this morning. Well done sir.
- Upcoming events include HDHH on Wednesday at 26 Acres, Red Friday at Highlands on August 3 (Q still needed), F3 Dads camping this weekend, and the grand opening of F3 Afton at Dorton Park on Saturday. No F3 at MCCP this Saturday.
- Thanks to everyone who posted today. My legs were pretty shot from the 1000 rep challenge on Saturday so the additional 300 squats were not easy.

I love that @Disaster and @Kleanup were thinking about how to “razz me” for not showing…only because I decided to post at 5 AM instead. Disclaimer: It’s exactly one-mile from my mailbox to the HC Sports Club, which makes the home-base Murph possible. The uphill second-mile SUCKS, though.
I was pleasantly surprised to have @Shazam join me. Murph in solitude just isn’t the same.

We missed you on the 4am edition @Powerball. 5:30 was our cool down cycle.
