Block Party Celebration

All Rolling Stone Backblasts

November 16th, 2017 By Heatstroke

YHC rolled into the lot kinda hot at 0529 as giving Worm Burner (with his extra beauty rest and 27 layers of clothing) a lift has its disadvantages.  0530, time to begin.  Plenty of mumblechatter, QIC shushed the crowd, which led to an even higher level of mc.  Disclaimer was given, but nobody heard it as it is difficult to listen when yappers are moving.  We moseyed to the courts for some warmarama and some possible mumblechatter reduction…

Warmarama:  Very fast paced to quell the raucous crowd, plan foiled by multiple late arrivals with accompanying cat calls.  El Sabado, the beatdown starts at 0530, that isn’t when you leave the house:)  Life Alert and Genie make El Sabado feel better by arriving even later.

Mosey to the cinder block storage facility for…

The Thang: The Block Party

The mumblechatter was still at a fevered pitch as the PAX were kind of feeling themselves…YHC was not concerned, this would end soon as the Block Party was about to begin.  Partner up, 1 block per couple.  Start at end of ramp for trailer and move around the back of WROPS performing the following:

All PAX convene at fence where 3 blocks are found destroyed.  10 burpee penalty for teams with broken blocks.  All PAX head to picnic tables.  4 PAX per table, lift table and we perform overhead table presses – 20 IC.  Taller PAX probably took the brunt on this one, probably a nice break for Marie Callender.

PAX instructed to return to fence near the dragon with the blocks.  Time for a Block Party return to the storage facility.  P1 performs same cinder block snaps, P2 now performs 20 merkins, relieve and switch. Those couples with broken blocks instructed to return broken pieces to storage facility, grab a new block and return to where the six is and join in on the party.  Early finishers help the six as before.  Blocks returned in far worse shape than when they were initially retrieved.  Extended plank session performed and we return to the lot for…

Mary:

COT: Santa 5K this Saturday, sign ups end today.  $1000 to the group with the most participants…this would be nice.

Moleskin:

Many PAX probably arrived expecting an easy going Whatley maintenance Q, but a Tuesday/Thursday trade was performed due to travel considerations, and that beatdown was on Tuesday.  YHC has zero sympathy for PAX unexpectedly having to put in some real work:)

Props to Project for completing the beatdown with a 50# ruck.  While it was ruck friendly in regards to a lack of running, that is about where the ruck friendly part ended, nice job.  Project & Genie were carrying on like school girls the entire beatdown.  Genie clearly fascinated by Project’s large…backpack.  Mary looked to consist of the two of them laying around and chatting.  Genie a SC for the customer GoRuck Tough in March as a result.  Lack of overall performance reluctantly overlooked due to possible additional rucker addition to the fold.

Tclaps to Sparknut for being the life of the Block Party as he was a machine out there getting work done early and helping the six with high energy.

In the all of the excitement of the volatile relationship between Sparknut and Cream Cheese, I believe we have overlooked what is going on with Fillmore and Ty Webb.  I think this a nomad bromance that can go the distance!

Good partnering with Love Seat this am, way to post and put the work in!

Thanks to Dodger and Genie for making the trip from Skywalker, always welcome!

Nice job gentlemen, hope you “enjoyed” it.  Have a tremendous day!

  1. RIP (rest in pieces) to 3 Blocks

  2. First boot camp in 2 weeks and I was not disappointed…well, not disappointed with the bootcamp. I WAS disappointed with the 3 mile pre-ruck not counting towards the pre/post-ruck challenge.

    1. Yep, gotta do 4 miles at least for that particular challenge. It has also been verified that you have to do the workout WITH a ruck to get credit for pre/post mileage.
