Anniversary – Looking back and Looking ahead (AKA – Baseball and The Farms yearly reminder that he married up, in multiple ways)
All Davis Lake BackblastsOctober 10th, 2017
Even though YHC put out the warning of potential stormy weather on Slack the night before, 7 HIM posted in the slog for a multi-anniversary beatdown. The storms held off but the air was thick and the sweat was plenty. Since YHC was born and raised in the Motor City, baseball was a part of life and the Detroit Tigers were baseball to any metro Detroit kid. October is a wonderful time of year. Mainly because it is the month where the best in baseball face off to prove which team is THE best. October 10th was the date that YHC’s favorite team brought home two of their four world series championships. So, YHC threw on the Tigers hat and shirt and led the pax in an F3 Baseball beatdown. Intro and Disclaimer were given and The Thang went like this:
WARMARAMA:
SSH x 20 IC
2 Burpees
IST x 20 IC
4 Merkins
Windmill x 20 IC
6 Crab dips
Cotton Picker x 20 IC
8 CDD
Mountain Climbers x 20 IC
10 Inch Worm Burpees
Mosey to Path in front of Vball court:
Time Lapse – To go back in time we need to slow time down and speed it back up again
Copperhead (Slow) the following:
Squat x 10 IC
Merkin x 10 IC
Lunge x 10 IC
CDD x 10 IC
Indian Run to Field:
F3 Baseball – divide into 3 teams with each team at a base. Because today is 10/10, each team will do a set of 100 of the following:
1st base = Air Squat
2nd base = Plank Jacks
3rd base = Lunge (single count)
Home = Merkins
Bear crawl between every base. Each time your team passes your starting base you get a run (shout out your score). End of 20 min the team with the most runs wins.
Indian Run back to Shovel Flag:
Global Warming – You know, since it’s already warm and 500% humidity
PAX in circle of pain. Hold Al Gore while slowly shuffling in a circle. Q Shouts out exercise and amount. PAX recover and continue Al Gore Shuffle in opposite direction.
Q call: 5 burpees, 10 Mountain Climbers, 5 burpees, 20 monkey humpers, 10 CDD
MARY:
Low Flutter x 20 IC
LBC x 50 IC
Rosalita x 20 IC
Moleskin:
– Great job by the pax pushing themselves and sweating it out in tough conditions. There seems to be talk about Turf N Turf running more often, and he offered up that he is working his own “HEC” plan as well. Always on the sly…
– Good to see Cake Boss and Liger posting regular. Good to see Flyboy back out after nursing that calf blow out.
– The Farm kept hinting that today we special for him as well. In the COT he revealed that today is his 3rd Wedding Anniversary and 34 years (I think) for his parents today as well. Happy Anniversary Farm, Amy and Momma and Poppa Farm!
– We had to end baseball with a three way tie. As much as it breaks my heart not to have a clear winner, I guess we’ll just have to go with the horrible cultural trend that “everyones a winner”. Participation trophies will not be provided.
– On 10/10/1945 – Tigers beat Cubs in 42nd WS, on 10/10/1968 Tigers beat Cards in 65th WS (YHC was 10 yrs old when the Tigers won the WS in 1984 and it was amazing to experience that with your team and city).
Announcements:
– RED FRIDAY is being hosted at Tradition AO in October. Great way to get an extra workout in for the week. Go support your Tradition brothers and honor our veterans and those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
– THIS Saturday is the Davis Lake Fall Festival and we will have the F3 tent set up so we can EH some sad clowns in the hood. Any pax that can hang out anytime from Noon to 3:00 PM please come help “man” the tent. We will be taking a collection for the AO pax to help cover the cost of a donation of some fitness equipment for the raffle. Please pass a few dollars to Turf N Turf next time you see him!
– Mechanic will be leaving for a mission trip to the Dominican Republic on Saturday and will be spending a week helping to build a home for a family in need. Please pray for him, the team and the people they will be serving.
– The organizers of the Concord Santa Scramble 5K on November 18th have asked F3 is they would form a team and spread the word so that F3 could have a large team presence at this race. See the daily MeCa email for more info.
