Q wanted to see a nice sunrise up on the deck. I hadn’t been to the top of the deck in a while. Nice cool morning made the workout a bit easier and less sweaty. About a 3 of 10 sunrise wise (or sunset as I inadvertently called it this morning). Too cloudy to get the full experience. You know it’s good to have Gooney join us on the regular nowadays. That dude ain’t loud. He sure ain’t funny. And nobody wants to see him with his shirt off. But he does love the Wolfpack. And that means his loyalty is true. At coffee, we also heard a declaration from our guy Total Package while riding by on his bike, proclaiming if the Heels made Omaha, he sure as F was going out there. We hope they make it. Brad joined at coffee after taking Mayweathers parking spot and ole Mayweather and Bozeman stopped in at coffee as well. Sneak peak. There will likely be an MRI story at coffee tomorrow. We hope it actually happens today.
In this world of constant distraction. It pays dividends to slow it down and get some quiet. Some of us do this well. Others, including myself, are a little intimidated by silence and solitude. Too many voices in our head? Too afraid of what we might be confronted with? Maybe we won’t like what’s staring back at us. One thing I know is that we’re way worse than we think. But more loved than we can imagine. Tim Keller says it well:
“The gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.“
“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”
I appreciate the demand for another LMU Q. LMU Out.
