21 men showed up to the most unique Saturday Q since the days of Cupid, with co-ed dreams of getting hard together. We all showed up a little nervous and unsure this morning, but as soon as he saw those hand weights Tombstone knew he was right in his comfort zone. Here’s how it went…

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD PLEASE MAKE IT STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP

MARY

Turns out it would have been a good idea to say our prayers first.

MOLESKIN

First thing I want to say is thank you to all of you guys who continue to show up for me day in and day out. I’ve always had lots of friends, but before this gang I don’t think I ever had anyone that would consistently show up strong for me and my family, no matter what.

I bust my wife’s chops as much as or more than anyone in the game. And her love of Pilates is an easy target. I knew we were in for a bit of a surprise this morning, but even still it was much tougher than I expected. And just like Pilates, my sweet wife is also a lot tougher than I give her credit for.

I like to think I’m a lot tougher, stronger, more hard working, and in better shape than Stephanie is. But this morning served as an excellent reminder that I’m only stronger than her at the things I’m strong at, but the things I’m strong at are not the only things in the world. They’re just the only things I pay attention and give credence to.

Like all of you, I try my best to be an active father and an equal partner to my wife. And probably also like all of you, I feel like I do every damn thing around the house. But the reality is that ain’t the case. I have a saying – it’s easy to feel like you do 100% of things, but really you only do 100% of the things you do. When I take a step back and really think about it, she does so many things for me and our kids that we take for granted. Even the little things like just knowing which kid doesn’t like macaroni and cheese any more, or being the one that they want when they’re hurt or sad. I’m a pretty good dad, but I have no idea which one of my kids won’t eat pancakes if they don’t have chocolate chips in them, how to make French toast exactly like they like it, what their social security numbers are, or what summer camps they want to go to. It’s not just the kids either. I couldn’t guess where my passport or birth certificate are, and I don’t even know how to book an Air BnB house for a summer vacation or even if I just spelled Air BnB right. She wakes up with the kids every day while I’m having coffee with my boys, and makes them a great breakfast before school that they don’t even really eat, but she keeps doing it every single day. She goes through a never ending cycle of kids laundry…Every. Single. Damn. Day. She has a dinner I wouldn’t know how to cook waiting as soon as I get home so we can eat real quick before rushing off to practices, rehearsals, school events, scouts, or work events. She buys all the Christmas and birthday presents, including most of her own. And she does it all while holding down a job.

When tragedy struck our lives, I should have been holding her up the whole way, but she held me up half of the time and refused to let me fall into a bottomless hole.

And she teaches my daughter how to grow up to be the same kind of strong, independent, capable woman she is. Which is pretty damn awesome.

Just like Pilates, being a mom is a lot harder than it looks. But also just like Pilates, it doesn’t kill us to get out of our comfort zone and try it out once in a while.

Boys, we all talk a lot of shit, but we are all blessed more than we deserve. Each and every one of us.

Happy Mothers Day, treat her like a queen this weekend.
