MOLESKIN

This morning as I was getting in my truck, I saw Psycho drive by and head up Hillcrest. By the time I was backing out of the driveway, I saw him turn around and drive back by. I assumed he tried to drive up Hillcrest and it was too icy, so he turned around to take a safer route. So I went ahead and detoured the long way which ended up making me late to my own Q. Later at coffee I found out he turned around because he forgot to roll his trashcans out for garbage day, not because of road conditions.

There are two important lessons to be learned here.

1- Don’t ever assume and just blindly follow someone else; and

2- Just because I was wrong, doesn’t mean the person I followed was wrong. Context matters, and everyone’s situation is different.

In these days of all or nothing, right and wrong, us against them…that was a timely reminder.
