Theme Verse: Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV) – “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
Introduction (5-10 minutes):
Men, in a world that pushes self-promotion, success, and personal gain, God’s call to selflessness stands in stark contrast. As husbands, fathers, leaders, and brothers in Christ, we’re challenged to put others first—like Jesus did. This short study explores what biblical selflessness looks like, why it matters, and how to live it out. Gather your Bible, a notebook, and an open heart. Pray: “Lord, teach us to lay down our lives for others as You did.”
Key Scriptures:
1. Philippians 2:5-8 – Jesus’ ultimate example: He emptied Himself, took on servant form, and died on the cross.
2. John 13:12-17 – Jesus washes the disciples’ feet, modeling humble service. “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.”
3. Romans 12:10 – “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”4. 1 John 3:16-18 – True love means laying down our lives, not just words but actions.
