The Canadian crooner Corey Hart beautifully sings, “Never Surrender”– a huge 1980s hit– positive message of resiliency and not giving up– in the song, it asks to believe in yourself when the road is cold and dark and won’t lead you home, but there is light even if you can’t see such —  I always liked this song, but seemed to be missing something I couldn’t quite place my finger on– I now realize what’s missing for me at least– I had to begin dying to self in order to find the ever-glowing true light in Jesus Christ– I am so comforted to my surrender in Him– I surely can’t do it without Him– I believe in Him and not in me

Matthew 16:24:  “Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
