1. Seven faithful Pax showed up in darkness at OCT but kept going and witnessed a gloriously beautiful, sunnymorning in which to exercise, tell jokes, or generally be glad to be here. Getting reports of extensive, devastating damage to western NC in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we all are grateful to have been spared, but prepared to help in any way possible when it’s safe to travel western NC. Truly a 500 year flood, I hope, and something we hope only happens once in a lifetime. Prayers were said for all those suffering in our state from this horrendous storm.

Emphasis this morning was to keep moving and get a good overall body workout with repeating stations around downtown. After a month-long vacation, Q was ready to get back at it and be with the boys. All workouts are better, no matter what the weather conditions, when done with F3 brothers. Circuit Rider, Homeland, and Tomby joined us at downtown coffeteria.

2. Allow me to share an observation I made while traveling this past month. No matter what country you’re in or nationality of person you’re talking, there is an international language all persons speak. That language is kindness. As a stranger in a foreign land, you’re a bit humbled and slightly intimidated by the whole situation. Never be afraid to strike up a conversation with someone, albeit a fellow tourist, Uber driver, hotel worker, or homeless person. Spend a few minutes getting to know them, and them to know you. You’ll find we’re all the same. Children of the same God, all with unique talents and skills given by Him, to serve all. Be grateful for the things you have and willing to share them with those less fortunate, of which there are many.
