10 real ass dudes were manlier than the rest this morning. Unless you were simultaneously chopping down a tree with an axe, smoking a 45th place (or higher) meat, and doing sex to someone, we got you beat.
Things started out as a drizzle, but the pre-workout radar was foreboding. We started with a strong mosey down Spring towards the B&G club and found underneath the covered entrance for:
- SSH x 20
- IST x 15
- Loose chg x 10
- arm circles
Then mosey over to the covered old Creamery in front of the board of elections for
DAT THANG
Nice little Dora, Pax paired up, with the timer running down the street to GWC to say farewell and back. Pax shared the following reps:
- Burpees x 50
- Merkins x 100
- Squats x 200
- LBC x 300
Once all pax complete, mosey back to the B&G club overhang through a driving rain for
- Burpees x 5
- Merkins x 10
- Squats x 20
- LBC x 30
At this point it was absolutely sheeting rain down, so Q made the decision to conduct COT at the B&G club. A wise decision as the rain lightened up pretty much as soon as we left the Club, and we arrived back at OCT to find a lost little puppy dog named Deertick who was taught a harsh lesson that 0530 means 0530.
No Mary btw, but prayers for Haskell’s 2.0 who is fighting at the ICU after a car accident, as well as praise for an unnamed pax’s successes.
MOLESKIN
Rained like hell and the Q had to adapt, which he did with great aplomb. Today’s beatdown wasn’t for the faint of heart and it had been quite a while since the Pax worked out in such conditions. Soggy socks, shoes, bods, everything. It was skin time at GWC, and as soon as we all sat to enjoy our caffeine, a second downpour appeared. It was suggested that we all just sit outside in a line, all facing church street, which is just silly. We moved inside for the back half of coffee. 3 miles and a nice swath of reps and wetness were enjoyed by all, except poor Deertick, who didn’t even get to participate in COT at OCT.
I wanted to say a goodbye to GWC, they’ve been very good to us. Support Verb as you can, but we’re excited to see what P&P’s got to offer a big group of sweaty ass dudes. GWC needed us then, especially during Covid, to survive. P&P needs us now as the downtown construction threatens to shutter their business. We need all the local establishments that we can get, and perhaps it was God’s plan for Gabe’s landlord to be an asshole, so we could help to save another small business. Thanks for being out there rain or shine, these are the days that keep me coming back.
