The Gates of Heck
All BackBlasts BackblastsMarch 11th, 2023
PAX: Othello, BearClaw, SS Minnow, Misfire, Mullet, Zin, Constitution, Magic Mike, Deadhead
8 HIMs resisted the siren song of El Dorado and joined YHC on a field trip of sorts through the “gates of Heck” (aka Harrisburg Park and it’s surrounding areas.) Here’s how it went.
Mosey to the shelter.
SSH x 15
Slow squats x 15
Mountain Climber x 15
At the shelter, rounds of 5, then 10.
Step-ups
Dips
N’Diaye Derkins #GoToHellDook
Down the Hill
Hand-release Merkins
WW2
Star jumps
Repeato.
Mosey to the top of the stairs
Count off 1, 2.
1: ramp down, stairs up
2: shoulder taps, CDD, calf raises
After the shoulders started smoldering on the first round, we switched it up to after the first lap, switch to squats (CDD round) , then plank (curb calf raise round).
Othello graciously gave us a 10 count, then it was time to run to Sonic.
At the Sonic/Pizza Hut lot we did a Mary of sorts
LBC x 15
Squirm x 15
Pretzel Crunch x 15
5 Mike Tyson’s
On the run back, Zin and Constitution noticed a damsel in distress who wasn’t being pulled over on 49, but rather her car had suffered a breakdown on 49. Constitution skipped over to the Sheriff’s Deputy and offered a hand (or 18.)
Next exercise is the car push.
About 100 yards later, the suv was off the highway and comfortably parked along a side street. That thing was a lot heavier than it looked.
Field trip day was over and we mosey’d back to the park. Minnow took a scary tumble but recovered quickly and is in fine spirits. Back at the park we ran on the track to the pre-marked section and proceeded to side shuffle, changing directions where notated.
Back at the cars, count and name-o-Rama 1 minute late. Strong work. 3.5 miles and 800+ calories burned.
Prayer request for Constitution’s family as they work through his mom’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and treatment.
I’m proud to be among such a strong and solid group of leaders. Thank you for allowing me to lead today. Keep Pushin.
Announcement: FIRE at Othello’s tonight. 1900 until.
