There wasn’t a dry brick in the house

All Afton Backblasts

October 1st, 2022 By Brett Shoup

Despite “Ian” trying to make a mess of things, 11 PAX rolled out of bed early – some earlier than others – to test their mettle.  Some ran double-digit miles, while others wanted to see what @Geppetto meant by “bricks”.  Big or small?

Warm-o-rama

Two laps around the parking lot to shake off the rust

knocked out some windmills, SSHs, and ISTs before heading to the shed to pick up two bricks per pax.  LMS (last-man sprints) to Mt Afton to begin the first part of the adventure.  Stop at each of five stations up Mt. Afton, starting with 10 brickees, 20 RBCs, 30 ‘mericans, 40 squats, and 50 overhead claps with bricks. Repeato, because doing that just once didn’t satisfy the Afton PAX!  In fact, everyone had a favorite exercise.  The Q generously called for a bonus round in which each PAX chose his favorite of the exercises and went back for thirds.  No brickees were allowed in the bonus round since they’re…just…too…easy!!!

LMS to the tennis courts.  Air chair with alternating punches.  Easy lap around all three courts.  Give the bricks a rest for 20 wall taps OYO. Air chair x 1 minute with thighs parallel to the ground.  30 mountain climbers, return the bricks to the shed, and head to the shelter for some Mary.

30 Freddie Mercs, a whole mess of box-cutters, and finally some stretching to round out a solid push by everyone in attendance. Strong work brothers!!
