THE THANG

Second chance Monday run day after a terribly boring experience running the parking deck in the rain the other day. Interval repeats with pain stations along the way to work on our speed.

Stops at the following intersections:

Donny
Academy
Marsh
Franklin
Grove

10/10 reps of each exercise per stop:
Merk/LBC on the way out
Squat/KGB on the way back

Arrive at destination after .5 miles of running and knock out a pyramid of alternating exercises starting at 10 reps each and counting all the way down to 1.

10–>1
Merks/LBC’s @CUMC parking lot
Squats/KGB’s @Forest Hill UMC
How many UMC’s does one street need?

Mosey back to OCT non-stop so as not to mess up the delicate balance of exactly 420 reps.

PRAYERS/ANNOUNCEMENTS

Praise for Spud having a little tater tot in the oven, Marlboro unimpressed

MOLESKIN

Short week for me this week as I’m heading out the door for a golf trip. Tried to outsmart myself and still get a run in by showing up Monday morning and swimming yesterday, ended up doing a miserable jog up and down the parking deck as it was raining too hard for even me to take off on the open road. So I took the opportunity with my Q today to get that run back. And run we did. No Tombstone, no Catfish, so no chatter just hurt.

Thankful to this group for being a reliable constant. No matter what day it is, regardless of weather, season, vacations, holidays – show up and somebody cool as shit will meet you there and get after it.

This is my last workout with you boys while in my 30’s as Friday is the big day. I’m determined to head into 40 as strong as ever. Turning 40 is an excuse for many out there to slow down, but age is just a construct. This group provides some great examples and inspiration in that regard. Catfish, Skinner, TP, Indy, Phidip…they bring it every day and are only getting stronger. There’s no reason I can’t either at 40. When somebody asks me how hard I worked out today, my answer will be the same as it was 20 years ago – “As hard as I could, and harder than you did.” Don’t hold anything back or save any in the tank for later. Give it your all, all the time, in everything you do and you’ll find a way to keep going. Don’t worry about being tired later, keep your eye on your 25 meter target and keep going. And most importantly, don’t forget to vote in the primary on May 17th. Early voting starts next week and I’m happy to talk to you about who to vote for and why.

We are all going to die sometime, stay hard to kill and make the Grim Reaper work for it.
