Beef Ladders
All BackBlasts BackblastsMarch 31st, 2022
15 Pax decided to escape their fartsack and get at it with YHC at the helm for his V Q. He was expecting a modest 7-10 Rolling Stoners, but in classic RS style, expectations were far exceeded when Schnitzel and Detention made it to 7 with their numerous 2.0s of which I am a proud member. After a mediocre disclaimer, which was drowned out by the noisy light post in the medium to high wind gusts, we hit it at 0531.
PAX: Sugar, Manwich, Kumho, Love Seat, Heatstroke, MC, Pox, Schnitzel, Barnabas, Gilligan, Detention, Backstop, All-in, Life Alert, Beef.

Warmarama
Moseyed up to the parking lot to say good morning to our statue of a pre-historic creature. Added in some butt-kickers and high knees. Circled up for:
SSH x20 IC
IST x15 IC
Cotton Pickers x10 IC
Windmills x10 IC
The Thang
Can’t really say we had any designated WO planned, but we did a lot of ladders with minimal communication to make it better.
First Ladder:
We finished our mosey under the shelter by the playground.
5-20 Apollo Ohnos/Bobby Hurleys increasing/decreasing by 5. After completing the Apollo Ohnos under cover, a run was involved that included ending at the other end of the playground to finish it in style with Bobby Hurleys. Repeato!
5 burpees OYO-Something was needed to keep the mumble chatter down, so the next best thing to pulling a Will Smith was to put ’em all to work.
And we moseyed.
Second Ladder:
Finished our mosey by the statue and sure enough we had the perfect set-up for another ladder.
10-20 Plank jacks/Mountain climbers–increasing/decreasing by 5. After each set, we moseyed to the opposite end of the island. It was around this point that YHC lost count and was relying on those around him to get it right, not sure if we did too many or not enough.
5 burpees OYO–finishing off the ladder in style
And we moseyed.
Third Ladder (sort of):
We finished our mosey at the near end of the upper lot, on the near side of the first island.
Not quite a ladder, but in the same species.
15 merkins–run a lap around the far island
10 burpees–run a lap
5 8-count body builders–run a lap
Since burpees were involved in this exercise we proceeded to:
“Take the wall,” a little-known invasion tactic in which one moseys over to the entrance to the school, the one with a lot of wall, and puts up some peoples chair.
We put in some:
can-can x10 IC
Air press x10 IC
The Wall was successfully taken!
Finished it off with a mosey back to the parking lot for:
3 sets of 10 jump squats with a lap to Life Alert’s truck after each set.
Plank it up to wait for those more methodic than @Sugar and @Backstop. 10 sec countdown, courtesy of @Detention.
10 ISTs OYO–run to aforementioned truck and 10 Hillbillys OYO.
Plank it up with:
Merkins x10 IC
Plank jack X10 IC
YHC had one more thing in mind but threw it over his shoulder when he saw the rest of the PAX assuming the Mary position.
The Mary:
With 8 minutes left, something had to take up a lot of time. So:
(Russian)Mason Twist x29 IC
Box Cutter X19 IC
Low Dolly X10 IC
Pretzel Crunch x20 IC, flapjack after 10
LBC x10 IC
After being called on by YHC, @Sugar took the helm for:
Dying Cockroach x10 IC
With time to spare, YHC, knowing that a never-before heard of exercise would be called, tapped into the wealth of knowledge that is @POX who performed as expected and called:
Pickle-poker x10 or 11 IC–the count was thrown off at the end
We proceeded to lift our right leg in the air, followed by our left. As hoped by @POX, time was called thereafter.
Recover, Recover.
COT/Prayer requests:
Prayers for the safety of all students who had to brave the stormy conditions this morning. We’re getting into that time of year when severe storms become a regular occurrence.
Moleskin:
I know this is a lengthy BB, so I’ll keep this part brief. It was a privilege and a pleasure to lead y’all this morning. For a hey-hey member of the pax, it is an interesting experience having other men, some 2-3x my age, following me around and doing what I say. It was more intimidating than I had expected.
I remember my first posting at RS just over 4 years ago. It was a sub-freezing day in January and there was a no-show Q, which resulted in POX leading us in the deck of death. While I have been sporadic over that time, it’s a pleasure to get out in the gloom at an ungodly time. I always enjoy seeing familiar faces out there from my early days such as @Heatstroke, @Sugar, @POX, @Love Seat, @Life Alert, @MC and of course @Schnitzel. Props to you guys for not stopping and putting in the work. Especially props to @Schnitzel for getting me out there in the first place, and being an example of masculine strength, not just on the exterior but also on the interior. It’s not often that we find men of all ages coming together to work out and have some fun, but that’s what F3 provides.
I promised I would keep this brief, so I’ll leave it at that. Keep up the work!
