All The Dawg House Backblasts

March 11th, 2022 By HoneyDo_MECA

The threat of colder weather and the thick fog didn’t deter 10 of the Dawghouse faithful, and honestly, they forgot it was cold by the end of it and left sweat stains on the tennis courts instead. The question was quickly answered of who was going to make it this morning after the 2nd F at Vortex last night as Buck and Sir Topham joined me for a bit of an on the fly workout. The fog was thick, the disclaimer was long (and interrupted), and the brain wasn’t able to get the words to my mouth to explain what we’re doing, but we pushed through, figured it out, and everyone is now better for showing up.

Warm-up in place:
SSH x25
Windmill x10
Merkins IC x10
Penny Picker x10
Arm Circles

Mosey to the concession stand walls

Struggle to explain what we’re doing, but with help from Talladega, we got it sorted out and did some work.
Do 10 reps of 2 exercises at the wall, run to the bottom of the stairs, 10 reps of 2 exercises, run back up, 9 back down 9…all the way to 1. Some confusion as it wasn’t a traditional 10-1 ladder, but all is well, not going to replicate the Angry Tug from last week.
At the Wall: London Bridge, Wall Taps
At the bottom: Merkins, SSH

Loveboat finished first and we used him as our timer to go ahead and call it and move on, I’ve got more planned. Most got close to finishing. Pick up the 6 and mosey to the Tennis Courts

Hit the center area and wait for MASH to do his Pull Ups as he comes in, had to get his extra credit in. Disclaimer referenced to Modify as Necessary.

PIMPS:
Pullups x5 (or Hang or burPees)
Imperial Storm Troopers x10
Merkins x15
Plank Jacks x20
Squats x25
Run a lap around the courts
Repeato until Mary

Mary:
LBCs x15
Pretzel Crunch x10
Homer to Marge Medley with Low Flutters and Hello Dollys Mixed in.
Peter Parkers x10 (Buck)

Moleskin:
– Always a pleasure to lead. Thanks for bearing with me as the fog invaded my brain a little bit off the start. And as always, it’s still fun to hear the groans on the Homer to Marge Medley, kind of brings a tear of joy to your eyes.
– Supposed to have been mid 30’s this morning, but guys were shedding layers as we went along. Luckily everyone kept their pants on, but the guns were starting to pop out. Might have to be careful being a school zone and all Ticonderoga.
– Great to see Dial up and 5g back out. Now you just have to keep it up! And a reminder, if you feel like you’re going to puke, we’ll watch and encourage you, but not much to do to help as we can’t hold your hair back or anything. No merlot was spilled, though the thick soupy air this morning didn’t help things.
– I thought I saw MASH slowing down for a minute, but he assured me that his second wind was kicking in and no, no he was not slowing down.
– Loveboat, Talladega, Sugarbush and Sir Topham led the way as usual, but luckily today was more of an at your own pace type of workout, so we didn’t have to keep up with them.
– Buck was elated that there were no Burpees (except by choice to replace pull-ups), but did mention we did a lot of merkins instead. As we discussed last night at 2nd F, apparently Burpees aren’t meant for us amateurs…I still beg to differ.
– My shoulders are tired, that’s what happens when people complain about doing legs, upper body takes a beating, you’re welcome.

Announcements:
– Tomorrow, 3/12, STREET CLEANUP (weather permitting, we won’t pick up in the cold rain, might push it a week or two, check Slack for updates)
– 3/16 – Dawghouse 6 year anniversary. Bring food to support the WM Irvin Elementary food pantry. More details on Slack for what they are looking for. If you can’t make the beatdown but still want to give, let me know, we can work something out.

Until next time!
