What’s in the box?
All Highlands BackblastsAugust 17th, 2021
15 PAX didn’t worry that it main rain this morning and showed up to a muggy beatdown that would leave them soak and wet no matter if it rained or not. The rain held up but the pain inflicted left everyone wet. A full disclaimer was given after @circuit introduced another FNG, and this time it was Kenny, or Benny with a K. Circuit is probably close to 10 Eh by now, which is very impressive and looks promising for the Bridge. We moseyed to the back of HCE doing carioca and then circled up for warmarama.
WARMARAMA
- Mummy IC x19
- Skiers IC x15
- Prisoner Squats IC x13
- Gremlin IC x11
- Plank-A-Rena x5
THE THANG
Side shuffle on the bus parking lot line doing air presses at the same time. We kept going until @mash was breathing heavily, which by then the rest of the PAX were certainly exhausted. We then moseyed along side the back of the parking lot by the basketball posts and monkey bar area. The PAX were very curious to see what was in the box, but quickly realize it was a box full of pain.
THE SECOND THANG
PAX were instructed to find a partner and then go to one of the 4 stations listed below in Circuit 1. Each group located at a station would perform the exercises listed at that station for 1 minute. PAX would then rotate to the next station until we rotated around all stations of Circuit 1 twice. We then did the same rotations for Circuit 2 and rotated twice there as well. Pretty much everyone agreed that the Power Plank followed by Hurdle Jump + Half Burpee was a doozy, in a bad way.
Circuit 1 (AMRAP – 1 minute for round 1 and 45 seconds for round 2)
- Jump Rope
- Agility ladder
- MedBall Jack
- Resistance Bands
Circuit 2
- Power Plank
- Hurdle jump + half burpee
- Curls
- Power Squats
MARRY
- On our six, the PAX did the American Twist using all 4 MedBalls for about 90 seconds.
- We then stretched with the standard hand next to feet and flap jack
COT/BOM
- Welcome to FNG Kenny who is 52 years old, grew up in Queens, NY, is married with kids and work as a tech at ADT security, and/or Protection 1. Let the naming suggestions begin.
- Thanks to @circuit for continuing his record breaking Ehing. A lot of us can learn from what at Circuit is doing.
- Prayers for my friend Cascia, her husband Ben, and their 3 young kids as Cascia is fighting stage 3 rectal cancer which has now spread to bladder and Lymph node. Cascia is only 32 years young!
- Prayers for the folks in Haiti and Afganistan who are going thru very difficult time.
- Prayers for our troops here and abroad who have sacrificed so much in Afgan and other surrounding areas who are now watching this mess in Afgan unfold.
- On more positive notes, Kayak and Hiking trip is this coming weekend. See Slack for additional info.
- We are forming a second team for Time Lapse, weekend of October 22nd. Let @barrister know if interested to join when of the most memorable 2nd F event.
- Some discussion this morning about having F3 Highland lunch once in a while for those working from home and feeling the blues of confinement. With that said, the first Monthly Fellowship Friday Lunch (aka MFFL) will be this Friday at Island Cuisine starting at 11;30. Island Cuisine is located next to Movie Studio Grill at 5332 Prosperity Church Road, Charlotte. It is in the same complex as Due Amici Pizza.
- Thanks to @number1 for coming up with the name the Box of Pain, a much smaller version of the Trailer of Pain. We now have a TOP and a BOP.
- Great work this morning men! That was not an easy beatdown, but we are now all better because of it.
- Have a great week!
