A Run to Reflect

16 battled the humidity to get some miles in at the hills of Abbington. You guys know the route so here’s the rest
- Make sure you read your emails from SoloCup for Saturday. We have 90 runners and over $4000 dollars raised. It’s truly amazing what this group continues to do to help our communities and organizations. Special kudos to the race directors and all the hard work they’ve put in to make this event happen.
- Prayers for Ivy League’s friend and Deadhead’s daughter with their bouts with Covid.
- Continued thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by the loss of Amway. While I didn’t know him personally, I know what he and all of his family and friends are going through and thought about that while I ran today. In 2010 my mother took her life and the depression and anxiety that she succumbed to is something that I struggle with as well. If any of you reading this need someone to talk about Amway or if you need someone to talk to please know that there are others out there that know what you are going through and that you’re not alone. For those that missed it last night with the Olympics, Michael Phelps made some great points about stigmas and the need to reaching out when necessary. Remember too that sometimes that first step may have to come from us, as those that suffer rarely want to share their burdens with others, no matter how close they are with them. This group does more than some of us ever think or realize. Let us continue to be good stewards and a resource in any way possible for our brothers. A pleasure and a privilege as always.
