MOLESKIN

Everybody knows I like some good block PT, that’s why they call me Mayw. I made those exercises up so they don’t have official high speed F3 names yet like San Diego Purple Leafy Bugs or Scarlett O’Hara Asphalt Umbrellas. Just like FNG’s, these babies practically name themselves.

Would have been a great morning for a sleeveless shirt, but I haven’t been able to bring myself to wear one since…the Indy incident back in the summer of 2019. Hard to believe it’s already been 2 years since I inadvertently snagged that lifeless earthworm with my fingertips, and in a lot of ways I never really let go.

The Indy-cent Proposal of my past reminds me that you can’t let one moment define you. Just ask Geno the Bridge-builder. It’s very easy for us to do that to other people, especially these last few years. Or even worse we quickly put labels on people based on things that don’t actually matter. We all have moments we’re ashamed of and don’t want to be remembered for, and people often remind us not to let ourselves be judged by one mistake. That’s a common  lesson taught from childhood and constantly preached and reminded throughout our lives. Just as important but far less taught is that we can’t let one good moment define us either. It’s very easy to have one good or great moment in life and then set it in cruise control and live off that moment forever. That’s like dieting hard for a week and then living the rest of your life on pizza and beer. You aren’t going to stay skinny that way and you aren’t going to stay great that way either. Stay humble, start every day at 0, and try to be great at whatever you do like it’s the first time. But whatever you do, DO NOT trust Indy if he’s handing you a block.
