Memorial Day Murph
All All MECA BackblastsMay 31st, 2021
11 men came to honor those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Chilly day for late May. After some back and forth, YHC took the Q that he received by default. Which in hindsight for some, was a mistake.
Warmorama:
- Manwich called for a 10 burpee penalty before YHC grabbed the flag and stopped that nonsense.
The Murph:
- 1 Mile run to the top of the road and back to the playground
- YHC has done 10 rounds all together in cadence for 8 years of doing Murphs. I knew nothing else. The timing works perfect, everyone is doing it as a group, finish together, and run together. We also are challenged to complete the task due to the accountability of cadence. In battle you fight together, have each others backs, and leave no man behind. This concept fits that. Some were not happy. Blame Manwich. Cobains.
- After fearing mutiny, we did the following:
- 10 sets of 10 pull-ups, 10 sets of 20 Mericans, and 10 sets of 30 squats.
- 1 mile run to the top of the road and back (with legs that felt like they weight 100lbs a piece)
COT:
- Finished right at 45 minutes
- Prayed for those who are on the front lines, have been wounded in the line of duty, and those who have died protecting our freedom.
- YHC’s birthday Q is Friday morning for anyone is interested. The Firestone’s and Po’s along with others will be hanging at Cabarrus Brewery for Food Truck Friday at around 6PM. You will get a glimpse at my brand new F3 Granddaughter along with good beer and grossly overpriced food.
Moleskin:
- No need to drill it in the ground, but YHC apologizes for messing up a Meca tradition by inserting a LKN one. (It does sound a lot cleaner and organized though…just sayin’)
- I thought Sugar was going to punch me at one point.
- Boy is there a big difference going up the road then down the road. That is a brutal 1/2 mile.
- At the sausage party:
- Heatstroke has a thermos the size of his kettlebells. Unfortunately it was BYOC.
- Beer cannot be purchased before 7AM and YHC should have been more proactive. I am glad the government cares that I do not drink before 7AM.
- That was amazing sausage. Seriously good.
- Great convo on the state of the economy and the Catholic rule against slack. Pox 1:1 “Thou shalt not use the Slack to garner important information, but instead, make PAX have to contact you to let you know what is going on. This is likely communicated using the same concept as the Slack called Text message, but test message is permissible under catholic law”
