Mosey to old CMS, run the old driveway of dread where we used to be dropped off, where Principal Butch Little once lept over me and single-handedly tackled 4 kids who were fighting. Stop at each of 4 light poles and do a set of 10 reps of different exercises, then run back through and Repeato. Nice and easy, whole lotta doin’ and very little thinkin’. Just how I like it.

After being specifically called out by name by Homeland last week, I felt convicted. It’s not enough to just show up, I need to step up and lead more. So I committed and took the Q nobody wanted with a rainy forecast. Inspired by the great Homeland, a pillar of perfect attendance and courage in the face of rain, I planned to not seek cowardly shelter should the weather turn against us. I had to make Homie proud. I couldn’t wait to see him at 0520 when I rolled up to the AO. He wasn’t there yet, but you gotta be patient in this game and keep your wits about you. Be cool, let them come to you. And soon my patience would be rewarded. That beautiful black Tacoma pulled into the parking lot. It looked a little different, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. The driver stepped out, hair blazing red like the eternal Olympic flame. The cursed ginger was clad in one of his usual NC State shirts. I nodded and said “What up Homie” and he smiled back and was all like “What up bro”. We began the beatdown, and just like usual I dusted his ass. We entered into the circle of trust and as his turn came up to say his name, for some reason he said “Marlboro”? I was like bro that’s not cool this is the circle of trust not the circle of lies, and we moved on. Because he was cooler than usual today I just let it go and we enjoyed our coffee together. There’s something different about him, but in a much better way. Anyways New Homeland is much cooler and if you guys haven’t talked to him, you should. He will probably be there tomorrow, just like he always is, so make sure you say what up.
