The return of fall awaited the baker’s dozen of pax on this springtime morning in Afton. A quick glance at the weather app showed temps barely in the 60s and dropping, but thankfully the rain was to the west and south.  A brief disclaimer was provided and we were off for a lap in the park, around the tennis courts and the parking lot, where we circled up for the warm-o-rama.

Warm-o-rama:

• 25 SSHs IC, 20 ISTs, 15 Toy Soldiers, 10 Penny Pickers, and 5 Windmills

Routine:

The pax headed over to the dumpsters to pick up 7 concrete blocks, while a pair picked up a log ideally suited for two that YHC found in the tree line a few weeks back and has been thinking about introducing that into a beatdown.  The pax paired up in twos, with YHC the odd man out, joining one of the teams.  We completed the ascending and descending ladder of exercises and partnered up to complete the total rep count.  While one pax did the rep, the other did a lap around the building with their concrete block, serving as the time.

The wildcard was the partner log.  Each team had to take a lap around the building with a partner log carry while the rest of the pax continued their partner routines. While they got behind the rest of the teams in their reps, it eventually balanced out.

The routines were:

• 50 – 8 count body builders
• 100 – WWIIs
• 150 – Merkins
• 200 – Squats
• 150 – Carolina Dry Docks
• 100 – Heals to Heaven
• 50 – burpees, which we didn’t get to because of time.

Back across the street for some Mary, which included Low Flutters, Hello Dollies, Box Cutters, Freddie Mercs and a minute of abs.

Announcements:  Driveway Happy Hour on Thursday at Hop Hunter’s house,  Can-Can drive this Saturday and the Community Garden work day on June 12.

Prayers:  Run Flat’s grandfather-in law’s passing, Spauldini’s mother-in law passing a family in Terrible Towel’s church who lost their 2 year old and lifting up Phidippides as he has hit the half way mark of us ruck across the Carolinas.
