This was a basic deck workout today meant to keep everyone moving at their own pace. It ended up being quite the burner with plenty of groaning punctuated by a choice between two less-than-fun exercises on the top level. I think everyone made 4 trips to the top. Highlights this morning included a surprise Balls-to-the-Wall, Windmill warmups straight from junior high PE and the Q forgetting the difference between Hillbillies and IST’s. We welcomed the return of a few faces we’ve been missing lately: Finish Line, Popeye, and Ace. Good to see you return to the gloom.

We continue to pray for the various needs across our community and call for everyone’s support: Phidip’s Ruck for Autism, Wham’s adoption journey, Mayweather’s fundraiser and the Boys & Girls Club.

Part Deux: I was hit up by a panhandler this morning in the deck as I placed the cones before the beatdown. He had the typical story we’ve all heard. What was different is that he asked for $$ via a cash app? That’s a new one for me. And while we’re all scratching our heads at the absurdity of this, try to remember we are all more fortunate than most. We have no idea this man’s story. I wasn’t able to help this fellow and I’m not even sure what kind of help he truly needed. Perhaps it’s a lesson for us to stay humble, give what we can and help where can.
