When: Wednesday, February 10, 2021
Where: COT of your beatdown
What: F3 Louisville created #f3mentalbattle where the goal is to bring awareness to mental health issues that affect everyone, with a particular focus on adult men, where mental illness and suicide is at a crisis level. Listen to the F3 Podcast on the topic here. It is very much encouraged for Qs around MeCa (and really any pax attending workouts that day) to use it as a theme of your COT that day. There are no specific talking points, but more of a way to express to everyone that it is absolutely OK to bring up the topic of mental health, and then speak however your heart so moves you. Anything expressed at this time should be regarded as confidential. One of the best things about our brotherhood is the way we continue to build a stronger and stronger environment of trust, support and encouragement for each other. The hope is something like #f3mentalbattle is another small step towards a stronger brotherhood both physically and emotionally.
It has been nearly a year of going through this pandemic, and it has no doubt taken its toll on all of us in a variety of ways. I would say that the mental toll has been toughest of all. I believe I speak for many when I say that F3 has been more of a blessing than usual due to it being one of the few in-person activities available in our lives. The fact that we can continue to exercise all 3 Fs (Fitness, Fellowship and Faith) while many cannot, is something to not take for granted. Let’s keep being there for each other, as we don’t know what our brothers to our left and right are going through at a given time.
Be good brothers. Aye!
