10 HIM got together to give thanks for the strength to get out of bed and improve their mental and physical abilities. Muscles were built and calories were burned in the process. The temperature was thankfully 6 or 7 degrees warmer than the forecast on my phone the night before. As I arrived in KTown, the temp was in the upper 30’s. However, as I stepped out of the truck, the wind was not as kind. The wind definitely brought a chill. Introduction given for 2 Rolling Stoners who made their appearance (Life Alert and Boucher) and a quick disclaimer at 0700 for the group of veteran pax and we were off on our mosey. Not enough wind on the ground. Let’s go higher! Into the parking deck we go. Ran up 2 or 3 floors before hitting the stairs for the rest of the trip to the top. We hit the top and the wind was stronger. YHC wanted to go to the top of the parking deck to be able to see the sun rise as we do warmups and the wind wasn’t going to change my plans. The high walls kind of put a damper on the view, so we did warmorama in a small circle in the corner with the really high walls to help block the wind. The acoustics from the cadence and pax counting was pretty awesome I must say!

Okay, we’re loose. Let’s go. Back down the stairs we go and mosey north on N. Main St. stopping at the intersection of Loop Rd. Half the pax line up on Loop Rd, half on N. Main. All with backs facing the street. Once in position, 10 Monkey Humpers, IC, were completed. Continue the mosey west on Loop Rd, making a left onto Charles Babbage Ln and into Bear Crawl Alley. Guess what?! No bear crawls this time! 10-2 ladder, increasing/decreasing reps by 2 each time. Station 1 on one side of curb, Station 2 on opposite curb. Exercises are hand-release merkins and WWII’s. Travel betweein stations by side shuffling.

Mosey south up the ½ mile long sidewalk (at least that’s what it felt like). Hang a left on the sidewalk and go grab a block. Head back down Laureate to the parking lot on the right for…

The Thang: Line up on the first long, parking line. This is where you’ll do the exercises. The second line from here is where you’ll run to in between exercises. (The line past the parking lot halfway line.) Here’s where YHC struggled to give proper directions. I was having a hard time talking due to being out of breath from running (not sure why, but I was struggling getting my breath more than I should’ve while on the mosey to get the blocks and taking them to the parking lot.) Lesson learned for next time. Anyhow, I had 2 weinkes made with the exercises shown below. The idea was to do the exercises in groups of 3, dropping off an exercise and adding an exercise with each round. However, until you got to 3 exercises, you would just do the first, then the first two. And at the end, you’d do the same. Once it’s all said and done, each exercise should’ve been performed three times. Here’s how the sequence was supposed to go (and I believe most ended up doing): 1, run, 1-2, run, 1-2-3, run, 2-3-4, run, 3-4-5, run, 4-5-6, run, 5-6-7, run, 6-7-8, run 7-8-9, run, 8-9, run, 9, run. Done.

Here was the list of exercises:

20 Incline Merkins

20 Block Squats

20 Leg raises (back on ground, block over head for anchor, raise and lower legs 0 to 90 degrees up)

20 Curls

10 Burpee Block Jumps

25 Chest presses

20 Bent over rows

10 Reverse lunges, per leg

20 V-ups w/block (I got V-ups confused with W’s. I really meant W’s, but we did V-ups anyhow, and they sucked.)

That’s enough of that. Return the blocks to the block pile and head back to Mary. Plank it up while waiting for the Six. Six gets back for 15 more seconds of planking before time is called.

COT / Announcements

Continued prayers for Firechicken and family.

Prayers lifted for Squid and his family. You were missed today.

Gremlin next Saturday. Not too late to sign up.

Phidippides is doing a state-wide ruck for a fundraiser. See Concord Pax for info.

Moleskin: Had a “good” time with you all this morning. Everyone pushed thru it and were better for it at the end. Was good to have some support from my local Rolling Stoners! Tclaps to Life Alert for making his second trip in a row over to Kannon on a Saturday. Tclaps for Boucher coming back out in the gloom with him after a few months off. Hope to see you back out at Rolling Stone Bouche. Keep coming to Kannon Life Alert. The Kannon AO has so much to offer, you won’t get bored! Thanks to Gooney for making an abnormal drop in for a Saturday beatdown at Kannon also. Much appreciated! Coffee was good at our new coffee shop downtown. We marked our territory there this morning. The owner said she’d put up an F3 sticker on the front window if we gave her one. Well, guess what? Firechicken had one in his car, so we’ll see if the sticker is up next time! I always enjoy hanging out with you guys on Saturday before I get my day going.  Thanks for the comradery.

Until next time!
