Tailgating gone bad
All BackBlasts BackblastsNovember 28th, 2020
YHC failed to check the weather and posted an invitation for a pre-run the night before. Either no one read it or they can recognize that sensible people don’t go run in the rain. Upon return from the pre-run, there were 10 pax eagerly awaiting a beat down. The rain cooperated and stopped and YHC gave a lousy disclaimer. Mosey to the flags for warm-o-Rama consisting of SSH’s, wind mills, penny pickers, hillbilly squats, and alternating arm leg planks (bird dogs).
The thang was on the baseball field where we counted off by 4. Numbers 1 went to first base for lunges, 2’s went to 2nd base for merkins, 3’s went to third base for hillbilly squats, and 4s stayed home for burpees. Home plate was counting station where 15 burpees were performed while those at the bases did AMRAP. It was during this round that our fng splashed merlot blessing us with lots of naming options for a Clover 2.0. In true f3 man form, fng fell back in after a brief respite for a strong finish. After 3 rounds of this, the exercises changed to squats, Carolina dry docks, bird dogs, and yes, burpees were again the counter at home. YHC audibled to 10 burpees lest there might have been a mutiny. Good time for YHC to get to know Hot Corner and Pudge better with the AMRAP.
From there, things fell apart. First off, there were not enough tailgates to split up into two groups as planned. So YHC had groups stay the same numbers and gave suspect direction. After some confusion, we did another two round of exercises in the parking lot using Aussie pull-ups on tail gates as the counter (10) followed by box jumps, derkins, and tricep extensions. Then back to the flag for planking for last minute and COT.
Time to name our fng and in f3 fashion, his name had to come from the college health food of Doritos and popcorn he left on the baseball field. After several names were tossed around, we settled on Chunk.
Announcement were that official Gremlin site is available. Event open to all AOs. Cotton tee shirts benefit the Gremlin family. Prayers for those battling COVID and especially Pantene family member in hospital. Prayers for medical pros and first responders who are fighting through this time so bravely. We should never take them for granted.
Great work today gents and especially Clover for bringing his three 2.0s. Always an honor to lead.
