Highlands’ MAMA at The Precinct

YHC perused the Passport Challenge spreadsheet challenge, trying to find a beatdown to head to in order to earn a stamp. “Precinct is close, let’s do that,” I thought to myself. So I joined the Slack channel and check out the SUG to see who was on Q.

Who was it, you ask? No one. YHC saw this as an opportunity, so I snatched it up, promising to bring some Highlands to The Precinct.

  • SSH x19 + 1 burpee OYO
  • Weed Picker x10 + 2 burpees OYO
  • Windmill x10 + 3 burpees OYO
  • Mountain Climber x15 + 4 burpees OYO
  • Merkins x10 + 5 burpees OYO

The Thang

We then continued the mosey down as YHC asked the Precinct regulars how to access the greenway. We found it, and while @hotwheels was trying to guide us to the left side, YHC had other plans. We turned right and stopped at the base of The Farmlands (Avon Farm Road), where YHC laid out the beatdown.

  • At greenway – 5 burpees
  • At cul-de-sac – 10 merkins
  • At first street – 20 air squats
  • At Saxonbury – 30 LBCs

Repeato until I decided to change it up, which happened after round 1 when @guinness took a spill heading back down toward the greenway. That was the end of his day, though he was moving better as he walked up the road to the car.

Time for a modification to avoid the dark stretch of sidewalk. YHC busted out a Highlands favorite: MAMA.

  • In the cul-de-sac – 10 merkins
  • At the first street lamp – 20 air squats
  • 2nd street lamp – 30 merkins
  • 3rd street lamp – 40 air squats

We ran back down the hill, and another modification was made as YHC realized the final street light wasn’t at the corner of Avon Farm and Saxonbury. So, round 3 looked like this:

  • In the cul-de-sac – 5 burpees
  • 1st street lamp – 10 merkins
  • 2nd street lamp – 20 air squats
  • 3rd street lamp – 30 merkins
  • Saxonbury – 40 air squats

YHC checked his watch and saw we had 10 min left, so back down the hill we went. We’d do Mary coming back up.

  • Cul-de-sac – 5 burpees
  • First lamp – low flutters x15 (IC)
  • 2nd lamp – pretzel crunch x12 (IC; each side)
  • 3rd lamp – possible car backing out, mosey to launch point
  • Launch point – mason twist x15 (IC)
  • Recover, recover
