All Mint Hill BackblastsSeptember 29th, 2020
On this fine day we had 14 in the PAX. It was the first ever lead from yours truly, Pantene. We started with the disclaimer, followed by some “ribbing” from the group on what was about to occur during the “Pantene Show.”
The Warm-Up:
*10 Side Straddle Hops (Was supposed to be 20…but apparently any inflection of my voice signifies “done”….so it turned into 10. I’ll learn to keep it more monotone. This was followed by:
*20 Wind Mills,
*20 Mountain Climbers
*20 LBC’s
The Workout:
*Mosey over to the track. The instructions: 20 Incline Merkins on the benches. Cross the lawn to the other side by: Lunges halfway across the lawn, followed by running backward the last half. On the other side of the lawn: 20 Decline Merkins on the benches. Rinse and repeat: 4 times over, 4 times back. It was after this phase was over that I was notified of my inability to count: Turned into 4 times over, 5 times back. Math was not my major in college. We survived this phase.
*Next, mosey to hill on the other side of the park. Instructed the Pax to grab a rock from the drainage ditch (I was then corrected that a rock is a “coupon”… I learned something). The instructions: 20 bicep curls with said “coupon”, followed by a Bear Crawl to the top of the hill to the fence. Come down the hill how you prefer (walk, run, roll). Rinse and repeat 5 times. Once this was over, new instructions: 20 over head triceps curls with coupon/rock, followed by walking backward up the hill to the fence. Rinse and repeat 5 times. At this point I lost count of my own workout, so we’ll just assume I was keeping it honest and did all the steps I instructed the team to do.
*Next, mosey to the open field….the Field of Dreams. Lined up the Pax in a row facing the trees at the other side. One calls out an exercise, the next in line runs to the trees and back. Exercises included (but not limited to): Merkins, LBC’s, Burpess, Monkey Humpers, Planks, WW2’s. Each Pax called out an exercise down the line with the next in line running (for 2 cycles), for a total of 28 exercises (But again, my counting abilities have been questionable).
*Mosey back to the flags. A few LBC’s followed by what I think was an attempt to do WW2’s, but at this point I think oxygen flow to my brain was minimal, so we called it an hour. Announcements, naming of the FNG, followed by the prayer. Done!
It was my pleasure leading on this day. I hope it was as challenging for you all as it was for me. I think we got in a few laughs along the way too (probably at my expense). Good times, good times.
