Iron Q day 5, The grand finale!

All BackBlasts Backblasts

September 25th, 2020 By Kirk Schultz

Rain keeps some away and YHC will admit that I’m one of those every once in awhile. But today was not that day, YHC had to finish the week strong. A short message on Slack last night informed prospective attendees there was no promise for not getting wet. With that in mind YHC designed a canopy workout with short runs included. 5 other PAX showed they ain’t “skeered” of some stinkin rain and came ready to end the weekday beatdowns in style. We parked close to the courtyard and moseyed to the main canopy for warm-a-rama:

-SSH x 10IC

-IST x 10IC

-Mountain climbers X10IC

The thang:

YHC designed a beefed up version of the Murph (obviously without pullups) which is described below. 10 rounds, rep counts increase for each exercise.

First canopy:

100 merkins – 10 reps per round (40 wide hand/40 hand release/20 diamond)

200 monkey humpers- 20 per round (Where were you Uecker?)

Run to canopy on other side of courtyard

300 squats – 30 per round (150 regular/150 sumo)

400 core – 40 per round (100LBC/100WWIIs/100 low flutter/100 low dolly)

Run to far canopy:

500 SSH – 50 per round

Run back to first canopy and start over.

Went all the way to 0615. Pouring rain the entire time, all PAX are soaked but no complaints heard. Most PAX made it to round 8 or higher. Not going to lie, YHC is relieved that this week is over but am glad that I did it. Iron sharpens Iron and I encourage others to take on this challenge. Kudos to Loveboat who made it out all 5 days. I think I kicked my own ass, hope yours was too.

Driveway happy hour was a success, may reoccur monthly for some 2nd F.

Continued prayers for Turbines brother and sister-in-law

God Bless!
