15 PAX  joined the QIC for this beautiful warm muggy morning. SirTopem arrived waiving the Stars and Stripes with “God Bless America” blasting out of the open top Jeep.

Easy today, 110 flights of stairs wearing an air pack, Ruck Sack, or weighted vest. The goal was 18 trips up and down or 45 minutes which ever came first. All PAX completed the 18.

September 11 has a special meaning to YHC due to my profession. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when the planes hit the World Trade Center. Everything changed that day for me and our nation. We came together as a nation for several years and fought for each other not against each other. Squid remembers the date well, his ship arrived in New York Harbor on Sept. 13th and protected NYC and it’s shipping lanes as the search for survivors and the clean up continued. Scout was not born yet and Risky Business was a wee chap watching cartoons. Several of our PAX were in grade school and probably don’t remember their parents calling each other on their flip phones. I am thankful for our nation and pray we still have the spirit that lead those firefighters up 110 flights of stairs to save a life.

As always it is an honor to lead.
