All Mint Hill BackblastsSeptember 9th, 2020
It was sorta like this:
BLC lead the way, starting out with a warmup at the tennis court. We started with some Karaoke, some Merkins, some Side Straddle Hops, and some other crazy activities that got our heart rates up. This was just the beginning of the journey… Next, BLC had us mosey on over to the trail in the woods. There was running…yes…running….and plenty of it. We came upon the pull-up bars, where we did 8-10 pull-ups, followed by 8-10 Burpees. After that we ran through the woods on the trail…the never-ending trail….back to the pull-up bars…repeating the pull-ups, the Burpees, and running again in the woods (3 cycles of this in total). There was pain, sweat, and tears (the tears were probably mine, but let’s not talk about it).
We then jogged back to the park, where me (Pantene) lead the way for the second half. We headed over to the hill next to the drainage ditch, where we all grabbed a rock of our choice. We paired up in groups of 2: one would perform bicep curls with the rock as the other would venture up the hill backwards and down again, switching off with the rock/bicep curls exercise and hill climb. This was done through 5 cycles. Was that enough? Nope, sure wasn’t. This was then followed by over-head triceps curls with the rock while the other team member climbed the hill backwards and down again.. There were 5 cycles of this. Then we decided to mosey on over to the field, where we lined up in a row: The person on the end would call out an exercise as the next person in line would run down to the trees and back. Some of the exercises we performed: Merkins (lots of them), LBC’s, Side Straddle Hops, Planks, and more. After completing 2 full rounds of exercises called out by the entire group, we called it day.
It was a pleasure co-leading with BLC. Let’s do it again sometime.
