The Inaugural Rolling Stone Greenway Gauntlet

All Rolling Stone Backblasts

September 1st, 2020 By Heatstroke

YHC rolled up into the extra gloomy gloom a bit early to put some chalk directions down on the greenway ahead of the “epic” debut of the RS Greenway Gauntlet.  Extra gloomy is to say that Odell Primary did not have any parking lot lights on.  Low visibility would be a theme.  A dozen of us are present for my out of breath disclaimer after a late return to the lot and we mosey to find some light near HRMS to warm up, where Master Po enters the fray to make it a bakers dozen.

Warmarama:  SSH, WM, HBs, PPs

We mosey to the front of the Greenway for…

The Thang:  The Greenway Gauntlet

Effectively, we are doing suicides at 4 points along the greenway.

Mary: No time

COT:  6 Year RS anniversary next Wednesday at original RS launch spot HRMS!!!  Pick your poison – BD, Run, Ruck, KB workouts available.  Praise for Master Po as he and his M are expecting!  Praise for my parents 50th wedding anniversary!  Prayers for MC as his oldest daughter tested positive for COVID, fortunately the old man is negative – COVID is likely skeered.  MeCa HDHH tomorrow at Cabarrus Brewing 7pmish.

Moleskin:  YHC is returning to the gloom this week after staying away for a couple of weeks due to seeing my elderly parents this past weekend and taking every precaution to not bring anything COVID-like with us.  Some running and kettlebell workouts still happened, but YHC also took it easy as his knee was experiencing some soreness.  The knee is better, but the fitness is not.  I knew this one would likely be a slobberknocker, but it really whooped my ass pretty good.  Had to take a nap for lunch today.  I’ll get back in the groove soon enough.  On paper, this BD doesn’t look all bad, but the fact that the first bridge is probably over 50 yards long is where enormous amounts of pain sets in.  Tclaps to all as that was not easy.  Chachi even wore a ruck and he was warned early that this would not go well for him.  Over 2 miles and a ton of bear crawling and lunging.  Man Down was doing his F3 best to pick up the six at the end, except the six was already back and no sign of Man Down.  Bad visibility and a few walkers that made there way through must have thrown him off as we had to send out a search party.  Firestone gave this workout his stamp of approval saying it was one of the best (brutal) he’s done in a while and thinks it should be done regularly/quarterly…others may not share that opinion, but we will see.  There was a rumor that Manwich said he was close to dispensing some Merlot, but that remains a rumor.  I hope those lights get turned on at the Odell lot or we may have to look at a permanent move back to the old stomping grounds of HRMS.  It’s good to be back brothers, syitg!
