The One with a Hot Bubble and When the Q Puked

All BackBlasts Backblasts

August 19th, 2020 By Chicken Strip

YHC was late for his own Q and spilled Merlot so at least F3 is back to normal.

YHC comes flying in late and checks with Hurdle resting at the AO to find where the pax has gone. Grab the flag and head to the dumpster alley to join in with warmorama.

Low slow squat x 15 IC
Slow count merkin x 10 IC
Slow count LBC x 15 IC

Long mosey to parking lot with the transmission line tower hill (aka Hill of Pain).

10-1 Ladder: Peter Parker merkins and star jumps
BUT crawl bear (reverse bear crawl) up the hill and bear crawl down the hill.
This proved a bit much on the super steep, wet, grassy hill so YHC called an audible and switched to quadraphelia up and run down the hill halfway through.

Short mosey to the guardrail square.

Dips x 25
Quadraphelia around the square
Freddy Mercuries x 20 IC
Carioca around the square
Derkins x 10
Run around the square
Core Killers x 5
Carioca around the square

Long mosey back to the AO
Crunchy Frog x 15 IC
Pretzel Crunch x 10 IC (both sides)
Merkin avalanche
KGBs x 15 IC

COT and ceremonial merlot spillage by the Q (at least I made it to after the prayer this time but it was close…). I really just did it for effect to show how impressive my workouts are. #SacrificeForGlory.

Moleskin

When YHC arrived the pax were doing arm circles, which would do little to prepare them for the pain about to wrought.

If you weren’t there – go back read the details of the ladder again and now find the steepest most awful piece of terrain you can. Bonus points if it’s slick, wet, and gets steeper at the top. Now bear crawl backward up it. But after doing a shoulder exercise first. Most of the ladder consisted of cruising through the exercises and then pausing to prepare for the transition between the exercises. That’s right, the run/transition that is normally the respite in a ladder became the worst part of the entire workout. Probably would’ve made for a good photo with the flag in the dark on the peak of the hill of pain. Too bad everyone was too busy not dying.

Matters were made infinitely worse when Rawhide revealed he was gassy that morning. Really bad day to be at a low level…bear crawling…backward. At the second stop of the day he dropped the quote “that felt like a hot bubble” on us which despite our fatigue helped us pick up the pace.

Oh and on top of all of those exercises above we covered over 1.5 miles at an 8:30 pace.

It was an honor to have led, worked out with, and spilled merlot with the men who were there in the gloom. Let’s just not let this workout become a habit.
