Convergence 2: Electric Boogaloo
All BackBlasts BackblastsAugust 12th, 2020
11 men from both Highlands and The Valley converged on the Highland Creek Golf Club Wednesday morning. The goal: miles. And safety.
YHC reached out to @stifler, who had The Valley Q this week, about a convergence for #lightupthegloom which was YHC’s effort as Running Q to continue to promote running safety during Running Safety Week. Success was achieved as all Pax were sufficiently lit and no one got hurt.
The route was explained to all in attendance at the launch, and a disclaimer given. We should’ve taken our picture then, but a las we did not. Off we went.
The Route
- Out the Golf Club, left on Highland Creek Pkwy
- Right into the school entrance
- Left onto Dogwood, right on Street
- Right onto Ridge
- Left onto Creek Breeze
- Right on Jimmy Oehler
- Across 485 onto Johnston Oehler
- Right on Prosperity Ridge
- Right onto Ridge
- Left on HC Pkwy back to Golf Club

- Thanks to everyone for coming out, including @tencent who embarked on his first cruise. Love that you’re diving in head first.
- Safety was the name of the game today, and glad to see so many guys taking it seriously. Sure, we may look silly in all our lights and reflectors, but at least people can see us.
- Shoutout to @blowout who was there but sort of not as he missed launch and didn’t have the route. We found him with about a mile left.
- Today’s Running Safety Tip: Always pick up the six. 1) You don’t want guys in the back alone if/when something goes wrong. 2) PIcking up the six allows for continued engagement and encouragement of all Pax
- Prayers for Blip and his wife and their employment, our teachers, and our leaders
