Buckets of Fun at the Mill

All BackBlasts Backblasts

August 2nd, 2020 By Grandmaster

12 Men and Backdraft gathered on a warm Saturday morning to see how a one-armed man could possibly put together a whole workout that would challenge us all.

Wednesday, after the beatdown, ChickenStrip took the shovel flag home as motivation to make it back for the Friday beatdown with Hurdle. That didn’t work as intended so we were left hoping that he would make it out this morning so we could display our colors proudly as has been our recent tradition. SirTopham told us not worry because he had gotten word from the Strip that they were leaving at nearly the same time and they live in the same apartment complex. Strip must park a looooong way away from his door because STH arrived at least 5 mins early and Strip rolled in on two wheels as we were setting off for

WARMARAMA:

Mosey to City Hall and circle up at the flags. The escalation of SSHs was on everyone’s mind after FC took us to 60 last week, STH topped him with 61 on Wednesday and Hurdle blew them out of the water with 101 on Friday.  Not be outdone YHC called SSHs as the first exercise. (Do I need to remind you that YHC finished second in last year’s SSH competition at Field Day?)

Next Exercise is….Side Straddle Hops! (MOANS) In Cadence! Exercise (UGH)

1, 2, 3, ONE!  1, 2, 3, TWO! 1, 2, 3, THREE! 1, 2, 3, FOUR! 1! 2! 3! HALT.

We then proceeded to: Wind Mils x15 IC, BSNs x 10 IC, Arm Cirlces and Chinooks.

Mosey to Shangri-la for Thang 1:

Circle up at the south loop and do 5 LBCs then run to north loop and do 5 Freddie Mercs. Return to the south loop and increase the reps by 5 each time until you get to 50 reps at each end. YHC originally thought we could make it back down this ladder as well but time ran out before we had to

Mosey to Rooster’s Parking Lot for Thang 2:

Three containers holding water balloons awaited us at one end of the parking lot and the pax were split into three groups. No counting off this time because you know we can’t handle that. YHC simply just point men in the right direction.  At each bucket there was also a bottle. The bottle was spun and whoever it landed on had to grab a water balloon while the other pax sprinted toward the center of the lot. If a sprinter was hit with a balloon they had to do 5 Star Jumps. If the thrower completely missed he got to do 2 Star Jumps and then the group gathers back at the bucket and the thrower calls out an exercise to be done for 10 reps.

This game was greatly appreciated by the pax as the water felt nice and refreshing on a hot summer morning.  YHC was honored when FireChicken and Backdraft decided to express their admiration of the MQ by dousing him with the water in their bucket, much like the winning coach at the Super Bowl. Love you guys, too!

After the balloon fragments were collected, we moseyed back to the AO for some corework and COT:

Prayers for families traveling to the beach for vacation in the path of Isaias. Prayers for Cupid’s kidney stone procedure to go as smoothly as possible on Wednesday.

Thanks for coming out guys. As always it was a blast and an honor to lead.

In HIS Service,
