As YHC rolled up to the AO with plenty of time to spare for once, a group of men had gathered on our beloved corner with great anticipation of what the Q had in store. Ragnar covered his face in anticipated miser as the logs in the bed of the truck came into view.  Looking around the AO, YHC noted a new face in the crowd.  FNG Carson had tagged along with Risky Business to see what all the buzz was about and if the old men could give these youngsters a proper workout.

Once the appointed time arrived, the Pax were instructed to pair up with someone of a similar height and grab a log out the back of the truck to share.  Each pair of men were to shoulder a log between them and mosey to the old AO for WARMORAMA.

Warm up exercises were modified to incorporate the log and the partners working together.

15 Conjoined SSHs IC lifting the log instead of raising empty hands overhead

15 Log kicks IC

10 Dead lifts IC

5 Conjoined Burpees

Mosey to the flag poles in front of city hall and drop the logs in the grass. Form a line (which apparently more difficult than you would think) with your partner by your side. Perform Individual Movement Technique (IMT) from outer horseshoe to the inner horseshoe. (IMT=from prone position stand as you say “I’m up!” Run forward as you say “He sees me!” and drop as you say “I’m down”.  This is a drill that I have been told is performed in the military, the point being to drill into a soldier that an enemy combatant takes approximately 2 seconds to identify, take aim on and fire at a target. So this drill gets you up, moving and down in that time frame.) For our purposes it basically is a set of running burpees. Mosey back to the logs, pick them up and Siamese mosey to Shangrila.

In Shangrila, Partner 1 take the log and begins curls while partner runs a lap. Flapjack when the partner returns. Repeato with military press and dead lifts. Repeat these three rounds again. At some point during these festivities, YHC returns from his lap and finds a log on the ground and no Hurdle in sight. Apparently he had log of his own he had to unload.

Our illustrious former MQ informed us that he needed to leave early, so his partner was going to be left hanging at some point. So, being abenevolent and gracious Q, YHC modified the beatdown to skip Powerhill and return to the AO where we began a ladder with 10 Conjoined Squats at the top and 1 Conjoined V up at the bottom.  As we were progressing though the ladder FireChick noted invited FNG Anthony to take his place on the log so that Cupid wouldn’t left alone. Anthony gladly jumped in and FireChick was on his way to the mountains.  Ragnar had pulled up lame at Shanrila and Flea had been pulling his weight, but then FNG Juan joined us for his second half beatdown with us. This being his second half workout we counted it as one and decided he would be named at his next workout.

As we wrapped up the ladder and our hour closed, Anvil appeared from his journey across Tennessee and joined us for the COT.

COT: Welcome to our THREE FNGs, Carson, Anthony and Juan. Great to have them with us.Prayers for SirTopEm’s family, two families that had experienced losing a member and thanks given for being born into or moving to the best country in the world. We are truly blessed to be here.
