Running workouts are different.  Sometimes you just run 45 minutes and go back to the house.  Other times you find hills.  Some people focus on sprints. You have tons of options but one my favorites is the old run out as far as you can for 22 minutes and come back to the flags for Mary.  Sure, it might seem boring but occasionally a thoughtless exercise is exactly what some folks need.  You might have been working it hard all week and a leisurely stroll is exactly what you need.  Maybe you want to set a PR for a nice flat 5K.  Or maybe you just want to set a benchmark for the next time we do this.

Regardless, it’s a good you vs you situation or an opportunity for a recovery run.

I strolled in with 30 seconds to spare(still beat Clover and Pudge,) disclaimed and we went south on 51 for 22 minutes, turned around, came back and stretched for two or three more.  That was that.  Let’s do it again sometime.  Maybe we’ll stop for monkey humpers at Man Bun’s house.
