Sunny Father’s Day Special

All BackBlasts Backblasts

June 20th, 2020 By Snowsuit

11 Pax posted at MCP for a beautiful, sunny pre-Father’s Day beatdown, courtesy of YHC. We started off with a mosey around the parking lot, waiting for the stragglers to catch up. What a beautiful day! (Did I already mention that?) During the run, we acknowledged all the Fathers and Grandfathers in the group, and YHC spoke a blessing over them. After a lap around the parking lot, we circled up and started, completely without any form of disclaimer whatsoever. It wasn’t until we were done that Alcatraz very respectfully mentioned that I forgot the disclaimer. It wasn’t the first time, but I will do my best to remember for the next one. Here’s how it went:

2 lines single file; one line for runners, and one line for non-runners. Indian Run back to the starting lot for Mary. The non-runners line took the shortcut without telling the runners, since they were so far ahead anyway. (Great call Alcatraz). Once the runners finally made it back to the lot where all the non-runners were, we went on to Mary…

BoM and COT
– prayed in Jesus’ name for Sugar’s friend and ONJ’s sister who are dealing with cancer coming back. We prayed for healing, comfort, peace, and restoration.
– prayed for each Father to be present as Fathers and husbands, and prayed a blessing over them.
– prayed for the 1st responders, and our nation in general during this unusual time we find ourselves in… may we be men of integrity and honor, doing good whenever we can, and shining the light of justice and mercy whenever possible.

Moleskin
– OK, mission accomplished. The mumblechatter was strong today during the beatdown, and since the weather was so fantastic, I can only conclude that YHC was bringing it! I didn’t know if I could measure up to the expectation of veterans like Sugar, or Alcatraz, or youngster’s like Powerball… but I saw sweat on all their brows. I know it wasn’t from the cool air or sunny blue skies, which was quite refreshing during the quick 60s breaks between AMRAPS.
– I have to admit there was some confusion on the flap-jack of the ladders, where YHC said PAX could descend the ladder either direction… my mistake. There was a bit of mumblechatter going on, but hey, we regrouped and it was all good.
– I think most of the grumbling came on our trip uphill to the wood rails. Not sure why, but I think there might have been too much running involved.
– there was some problem with certain Principals not listening to instructions, and YHC having to repeat clearly given instructions… but with a weak excuse, he complied and moved on.
– finally, during Mary, YHC was calling out counts, and stretches, and for some reason, the comments coming from Alcatraz’s direction were causing some commotion. I couldn’t hear what was said, but I think I’m better off not knowing.

This was a GREAT group of MEN that posted today and I’m proud to be associated with each and everyone of you. You all gave 100% under the sunny bright blue skies and started your day off right. Good job!

Happy Father’s Day: Remember to honor your Father’s this weekend… whether they deserve it or not. And for you Father’s, enjoy your day of honor. Be blessed!
