SandBag 1-year Anniversary 2 of 3

All BackBlasts Backblasts

May 28th, 2020 By SandBag

8 men showed up for beatdown #2 on YHC’s anniversary.  Snape and Gulfstream stayed for a second helping after showing for the 5:30 workout.  They were joined by 6 more hardy souls, including Snowsuit, whose tardy arrival caused everyone to get a second warmup lap.

The pre-blast said I would bring coupons for the workout.  So last night in the tropical storm, I loaded my truck bed w/ 1000 lbs of plates, carefully wiping each one w/ chlorox wipes to ensure safety.  To my surprise, everyone read the pre-blast and showed up with their own coupon.

After a thorough disclaimer and a couple warm up laps, it went down like this…

Warmarama:
19 SSH
15 low slow squats
10 arm circles then reverse
10 merkins
10 mountain climbers
5 shoulder squares then reverse [this beauty of an exercise received rave reviews from the Pax.  Hold arms out and move the shoulder forward, down, back, up]
Thang:
Brick by brick shuttle run
4 x 4s – start with burpee into plank.  4 merkins + 4 mountain climbers.  Run small loop.  Increase by 1 set after each loop until 4.

Moleskine:
Thankful that another strong showing of PAX showed up for my anniversary.  Especially the two
hardy souls who stayed behind to attend both sessions.
There were a number of new exercises and routines introduced.  Some of them were well received.  Others…
Good mumble chatter this morning.  Brinkley’s hair was impressive.  Not nearly as much complaining as the 5:30 crew.  I guess that extra hour of sleep helps.
Again I said a few words about the importance of F3 and its impact.
Special callout to Dutch, who gave me my name at Tradition and was the second person to show up on my first day.  There was no Q but he stepped up to lead.  I thought I was going to die and the 45 minutes was never going to end.
