36 Chambers – Enter the Spud
All BackBlasts BackblastsMay 20th, 2020
13 men gathered in a socially distant manner to celebrate the end of YHC’s 36th trip around the sun. Windy but not raining because meteorology appears to be a science of coin flipping. Here’s how we got to it:
Warm Up:
Mosey to OCT and back to check for stragglers who didn’t look at slack, and find LMU rapidly driving to the new deck, but finding nobody else, mosey back to first floor of OCT
Giant circle for:
- 18 SSH (4c)
- 15 Hillbillies
- 10 cotton pickers
- arm circles
And we were off for
Dat Thang
Turns out 36 has a lot of factors, so YHC used that in crafting the beatdown. Each level had a different number of exercises with a different number of reps. Pax would go up a level, do the prescribed exercises, and then upon reaching the 4th floor, run to the top of the deck and all the way back down to repeato. Levels were as follows:
- LBCs-36
- Squats/Dry Docks- 18 each
- Merkins/WWII/Boxcutters- 12 each
- Mike Tysons/Burpees/Lunge Walks/Core Killers – 9 each
- Run to top and then back down to level one
Repeato. Mary called at 6:13
Mary/COT
No time for Mary oh well, we prayed for Bangladesh/India and the super typhoon headed their way, loss of life is terrible, and said the Lord’s Prayer in unison.

Ruckus was solidly brought. YHC considered breaking out the speakerboxxx, but decided it was a bit too early to start blasting Wu-Tang in a semi confined space. Once we’re on to Phase 2, a solid speaker beatdown is coming everyone’s way.
Felt like a good workout, YHC logged 2.6 on the watch in addition to 400+ reps, and finished in the middle of the pack, so it was a solid beating placed upon the pax, which allowed everyone to move at their own pace and naturally socially distance. It is difficult to figure out workouts that will lend themselves to social distancing, but I’m proud of our Pax and Qs for taking things seriously and adhering to guidelines, even if they don’t agree with them.
Little did I think 2 years ago that I’d be excited to spend the early morning after my birthday doing burpees and running miles, but that’s what F3 does for you, it’s all about the guys you’re with. Gyms may put some people off in the next few weeks, so it’s a great time to EH a few, get them out here. A lot of folks have packed on the COVID 19, so reach out to someone you think would make a good FNG. Always a great morning celebrating with my F3 brothers, thanks for making it a great year despite the bullshit of the last couple of months.
AYE!
